Purpose: Road safety research is important due to the large number of road traffic fatalities globally. This study investigated the influences of age, driving experience and other covariates on aggressive driving behavior.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Yixing City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China.

Design and engineering of highly efficient emitting materials with assembly-induced luminescence, such as room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) and aggregation-induced emission (AIE), have stimulated extensive efforts. Here, we propose a new strategy to obtain size-controlled Eu-complex nanoparticles (Eu-NPs) with self-assembly-induced luminescence (SAIL) characteristics without encapsulation or hybridization. Compared with previous RTP or AIE materials, the SAIL phenomena of increased luminescence intensity and lifetime in aqueous solution for the proposed Eu-NPs are due to the combined effect of self-assembly in confining the molecular motion and shielding the water quenching.

Objective: To evaluate the acceptability of a community health worker (CHW) intervention designed to improve the oral health of low-income, urban Chinese immigrant adults.

Background: Given that both dental caries and periodontitis are behaviourally mediated, biofilm-based diseases that are largely preventable with attention to regular oral hygiene practices and preventive dental visits, strategies to arrest or even heal carious lesions and high-quality maintenance care and plaque control without the need to resort to aerosol-generating surgical approaches are evidence-based best practices. Older immigrants have poorer oral health than older US-born natives, motivating the need for delivery of more effective and affordable services to this vulnerable population.

To identify more chemical markers for improving the quality standard and evaluate producing areas differentiation of Astragali Radix (AR), a simple, low-cost and reliable chromatography method based on a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with ultraviolet (UV) detector and charged aerosol detector (CAD) for separation of 13 major chemical components, including 8 flavonoids and 5 astragalosides in AR extract, was developed. The contents of 13 compounds in total of 27 herb samples, collected from different cultivating regions, were determined and compared. Moreover, chemometric analysis techniques with principal component constituent analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA) were performed to discriminate the samples from different producing areas.

Objective: To determine the role of PPE25 in the infection of (MS) in polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs).

Methods: In MS-ppe25 group, PPE25 was expressed in non-pathogenic fast-growing (Mtb) that infected PMNs. The empty vector MS (MS-vec group) was served as control.

Background: The unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) model not only induces renal interstitial fibrosis in the obstructed kidney but also induces injury in the contralateral kidney. We hypothesized that activation of the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) may induce fibrosis in the early stage of UUO.

Methods: Thirty male Sprague-Dawley rats weighting 200 ± 10 g were used in this study and randomly divided into 3 groups: a UUO group, a UUO and eplerenone group, and a sham group.

Objective: To develop a life quality scale suitable for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients, objectively reflecting its changes.

Methods: Authors first put forward a theoretical structure model of a scale according to patient-reported outcome (PRO) scale formulation principle by combining basic theories of Chinese medicine (CM). Then authors developed an initial scale on the basis of various life quality scales for respiratory disease patients by using structural decision making.

Objective: To observe the effect of Shenluotong Decoction (SD) on serum levels of aldosterone, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), α-smooth muscle protein (α-SMA), and nuclear factor-KB (NF-κB) in obstructive nephropathy rats, and to explore the initial mechanism of SD for inhibiting renal interstitial fibrosis.

Methods: Totally 48 healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into the sham-operation group (n =12) and the model group (n =36). Renal interstitial fibrosis rat model was established by unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO).
