Background: Antithrombotic medications, including antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapies, are widely used to prevent thromboembolic events in patients with cardiovascular diseases. It is common for patients on antithrombotic medications to undergo endovascular interventions though potential complications remain unclear. This study investigated the impact of continuing antithrombotic medications before endovascular interventions on perioperative clinical outcomes, particularly intraoperative blood transfusion.

Objectives: Detecting point mutations with high sensitivity and specificity can be technically very challenging, but it is crucial for early diagnosis and effective drug treatment of cancers. To enable ultrasensitive and ultraspecific detection of single-base mutations in simple and economical ways, we have developed an artificial base mismatches-mediated PCR (ABM-PCR) detection approach.

Methods: ABM-PCR was applied to quantitative PCR (qPCR) and droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) detection platforms.

The performance of zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) is often hindered by issues such as dendrite formation, hydrogen evolution, and limited cycling stability. 1,3-Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) not only stabilizes the anode by modulating the anode/electrolyte interface (AEI) but also enhances the electrochemical performance of the battery through its spontaneous and reversible keto-enol tautomerization, reducing the concentration gradient on the anode surface. Using a combination of DFT calculations and experimental characterization, the regulation of the hydrated Zn structure and its adsorption at AEI by this additive is investigated.

The tall and short traits of chickens are significant indicators for evaluating their growth and development. Tall chickens have longer growth cycles, allowing them to accumulate sufficient nutrients and resulting in superior meat quality. This study aims to investigate the tall and short traits of Baicheng Fatty chickens and to identify relevant candidate genes.

The effects of different shaping methods and loading treatments on the photosynthetic rate, chlorophyll content, fruit yield and quality, and volatile compound composition of the 'Beibinghong' grape were studied. In the experiment, 6-year-old 'Beibinghong' grapes were selected as the material, and two kinds of shaping methods were adopted: the double main vine upright tree (control) and the inclined horizontal dragon tree. The inclined horizontal dragon tree was treated with different loads.

Identifying atomic-level mechanisms in elemental chemical reactions is crucial for understanding complex reaction processes. This study focuses on the typical multichannel H + NHCl reaction, which plays a significant role in environmental science. High-level ab initio calculations determined seven distinct reaction pathways, leading to three product channels: H + NHCl, HCl + NH, and Cl + NH.

Diethanolamine (DEA) can be used not only as a cement admixture but also to capture carbon dioxide (CO). However, the waste liquid treatment still faces the problems of high energy consumption and increasing environmental burden. The effects of DEA waste liquid (WL-DEA) with multiple cycles of CO absorption and desorption on the setting time, hydration temperature, mechanical strength, and microstructure of cement-based materials were explored.

Eld's deer (Rucervus eldii) is a rare and globally endangered tropical Southeast Asian deer species. There is no research on pathogens in Eld's deer in Hainan, China. This study aimed to understand the virus diversity and novel viruses in Eld's deer, and provided important epidemiological baseline information for conservation of this endangered species.

Intraosseous ultrasound imaging is valuable for guiding pedicle screw placement in surgery. However, single-frequency ultrasound, whether low or high, often fails to provide both adequate imaging resolution and depth simultaneously. To address this limitation, we introduce a novel ultrafast multi-frequency ultrasound patch fusion imaging method for pedicle screw navigation.

Aims: While emerging evidence implicates an abnormal stearic-to-palmitic acid ratio in saturated fats in beta-cell dysfunction, their gestational/lactational impacts remain underexplored. This study evaluates the differential transient and long-lasting effects of high-fat diets with contrasting stearic-to-palmitic acid ratios on maternal beta-cell function.

Materials And Methods: Female mice were fed high-fat diets with high/low stearic-to-palmitic acid ratios during gestation/lactation, followed by a recovery period and subsequent exposure to an obesogenic diet.

Objectives: The identification of reliable quality indicators (QIs) in the total testing process (TTP) is a pivotal step in quantifying laboratory service quality. This study comprehensively evaluated the performance quality and explored the factors affecting laboratory quality in Guangdong Province, China, by analyzing the results of QIs.

Methods: The Guangdong Clinical Laboratory Center organized an external quality assessment program for QIs, and the Clinet-EQA system was used to distribute questionnaires and collect data.

Aim: Recently, some researchers have questioned the inclusion of muscle mass as a diagnostic criterion for sarcopenia. We examined the longitudinal association between the presence or absence of muscle mass assessment in sarcopenia diagnosis and the incidence of poor health outcomes.

Methods: This 1-year follow-up study included 730 Japanese outpatients aged ≥65 years without disabilities who visited the frailty clinic.

Itch refers to an aversive sensation that generates a desire to scratch. The basolateral amygdala (BLA) activity is crucial in driving motivation, sensation, and emotional responses. Excitatory projections from the BLA play a vital role in turning neuronal activity throughout the brain, including the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC).

Trauma or inflammation-caused cartilage injury leads to joint dysfunction and pain. Exogenous hyaluronic acid (HA) injection is a well-established treatment, but it has a short duration in vivo and requires multiple injections. Here, a new strategy for in situ reprogramming chondrocytes to continuously produce endogenous high molecular weight HA is developed.

Recent source-free domain adaptation (SFDA) methods have focused on learning meaningful cluster structures in feature space, successfully adapting the knowledge from the source domain to the unlabeled target domain without accessing the private source data. However, existing methods rely on pseudo-labels generated by source models that can be noisy due to domain shift, presenting a significant challenge to their efficacy. In this paper, we study SFDA from the perspective of learning with label noise (LLN) and prove that the label noise in SFDA, unlike in conventional LLN scenarios, follows a different distribution assumption.

Immature dentate granule cells (imGCs) arising from adult hippocampal neurogenesis contribute to plasticity, learning and memory, but their evolutionary changes across species and specialized features in humans remain poorly understood. Here we performed machine learning-augmented analysis of published single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets and identified macaque imGCs with transcriptome-wide immature neuronal characteristics. Our cross-species comparisons among humans, monkeys, pigs, and mice showed few shared (such as DPYSL5), but mostly species-specific gene expression in imGCs that converged onto common biological processes regulating neuronal development.

Introduction: Although kinematic assessments for stroke-induced lower limb impairments offer a promising alternative to conventional scale evaluations, interpreting high-dimensional kinematic data remains challenging due to numerous metrics reported in past studies. This study aimed to provide an exhaustive overview of existing studies using kinematics data to assess the gait impairments in individuals with stroke, along with examining their clinimetric properties for future clinical applications.

Evidence Acquisition: A systematic search was conducted across PubMed (08/2024), Scopus (08/2024), Web of Science (08/2024), CINAHL (08/2024), EMBASE (08/2024), and IEEE (08/2024).

Vibration signals serve as the primary data source for bearing fault diagnosis. However, when collected in complex industrial environments, these signals are often contaminated by noise interference, posing significant challenges to fault feature extraction and diagnostic accuracy. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel bearing fault diagnosis network architecture: the Multi-Resolution Fusion Selection Network (MR-FuSN).
