Broadcast ephemeris data are essential for the precision and reliability of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) but are highly susceptible to anomalies caused by various interference factors, such as ionospheric and tropospheric effects, solar radiation pressure, and satellite clock biases. Traditional threshold-based methods and manual review processes are often insufficient for detecting these complex anomalies, especially considering the distinct characteristics of different satellite types. To address these limitations, this study proposes an automated anomaly detection method using the IF-TEA-LSTM model.

Background: Nuclear protein in testis (NUT) cancers, also known as midline cancers, tends to occur in organs near the midline, such as the nasal sinuses and mediastinum. NUT carcinoma is very rare and has a poor prognosis.

Case Description: We report the case of a 44-year-old female patient with sinonasal NUT carcinoma who presented with a soft tissue mass in the left frontal sinus, ethmoid sinus, and left nasal cavity on computed tomography; the tumor was poorly demarcated from the left rectus medialis.

ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and HMGB1 (high mobility group box 1 protein) are key players in treatments that induce immunogenic cell death (ICD). However, conventional therapies, including radiotherapy, are often insufficient to induce ICD. In this study, we explore a strategy using nanoparticle-loaded macrophages as a source of ATP and HMGB1 to complement radiation-induced intrinsic and adaptive immune responses.

A DNA-antibody conjugate is a synthetic molecule that combines the unique functions of both an antibody and DNA. With the increased accessibility of commercialized kits, the procedure for constructing conjugates is simplified and the requirement for chemistry background is reduced. As a result, the difficulty of preparing a DNA-antibody conjugate has been significantly lowered.

Article Synopsis
  • PEEK is a promising bone substitute material due to its elastic modulus resembling natural bone, but it suffers from limitations like poor osseointegration and sterility issues.
  • RNA interference techniques are being utilized to enhance PEEK implants, by coating them with an antibacterial agent (pTAN) and using siCKIP-1 to boost osseointegration and fight infections.
  • The modified PEEK implants show improved biocompatibility and promote the growth of bone cells in lab tests, highlighting the potential for better implant materials in clinical applications.

Dioxin is a typical class of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) that could cause cancer. In China, the contribution of dietary dioxins to the cancer burden remains underexplored. This study evaluates the cancer risk and burden due to dietary dioxins and dioxin-like compounds among Chinese residents from 2000 to 2020.

Calcium signaling plays a crucial role in the activation of T lymphocytes. However, modulating calcium levels to control T cell activation in vivo remains a challenge. In this study, we investigate T cell activation using 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA)-encapsulated CaCO nanoparticles.

Background: Anterior pelvic ring injuries have gradually become common. Using a minimally invasive technique to treat this injury may be feasible if the reduction and stability can be effectively achieved. We describe a percutaneous technique, minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO), to fixate the anterior pelvis via establishing a subperiosteal tunnel between two limited incisions over the iliac crest(s) and pubic ramus in this research.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) kidney-tonifying treatments for bone loss and osteoporosis in breast cancer patients after endocrine therapy.
  • A systematic review of 986 articles led to the inclusion of 22 randomized controlled trials involving 1,579 patients, focusing on various bone density measurements and drug safety, assessed through meta-analysis.
  • Results showed significant improvements in lumbar spine bone density and T-values, with positive trends in femoral neck bone density, while clinical efficacy was inconclusive; overall, the treatments were deemed safe and warrant further investigation as a complementary therapy.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is known to be resistant to immunotherapy. In our phase-I clinical trial, one patient achieved a 313-day prolonged response during the combined treatment of oncolytic virotherapy and immunotherapy. To gain a deeper understanding of the potential molecular mechanisms, we performed a comprehensive multi-omics analysis on this patient and three non-responders.

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) significantly affects the prognosis of surgical patients with inguinal hernia. The complex Caprini score, commonly used for postoperative VTE risk assessment, poses practical challenges for surgeons in clinical settings.

Methods: The CHAT-3 trial, a prospective, multicenter, randomized controlled trial, compared a simple three-factor model to assess VTE risk against routine practices in postinguinal hernia surgery (IHS) patients.

Eutectic electrolytes show potential beyond conventional low-concentration electrolytes (LCEs) in zinc (Zn)-ion capacitors (ZICs) yet suffer from high viscosity and sluggish kinetics. Herein, we originally propose a universal theory of intrinsically decoupling to address these issues, producing a novel electrolyte termed "quasi-eutectic" electrolyte (quasi-EE). Joint experimental and theoretical analyses confirm its unique solution coordination structure doped with near-LCE domains.

Background: Bladder cancer is the most common malignancy of the urinary system, and the search for new and reliable biomarkers has important clinical significance for the personalized treatment of bladder cancer. This study aims to explore the correlation between nuclear proliferation antigen (Ki-67) or Profilin-1 (PFN1) levels, clinicopathological characteristics, and postoperative prognosis in patients with bladder cancer.

Methods: Patients with bladder cancer who underwent transurethral resection of bladder cancer tumor in The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, hospital from January 2019 to January 2021 were selected as the study group (n = 60), and patients with benign lesions of bladder cancer during the same period were selected as the control group (n = 60).

The association between the exposure of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and serum uric acid (UA) levels remained uncertain. In this study, to investigate the combined effects of OCP mixtures on hyperuricemia, we analyzed serum OCPs and UA levels in adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2005-2016). Four statistical models including weighted logistic regression, weighted quantile sum (WQS), quantile g-computation (QGC), and bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) were used to assess the relationship between mixed chemical exposures and hyperuricemia.

Unstable Zn interface with serious detrimental parasitic side-reactions and uncontrollable Zn dendrites severely plagues the practical application of aqueous zinc-ion batteries. The interface stability was closely related to the electrolyte configuration and Zn depositional behavior. In this work, a unique Zn-ion anchoring strategy is originally proposed to manipulate the coordination structure of solvated Zn-ions and guide the Zn-ion depositional behavior.

Background And Purpose: This prospective observational study aimed to investigate the occurrence of avascular necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head in COVID-19 patients through MRI scans. The study examined the patterns of AVN in 110 individuals who had undergone conventional COVID-19 therapy and reported hip discomfort. This study highlights the importance of considering AVN as a potential complication of COVID-19 therapy, particularly in younger patients who experience hip discomfort.
