Insufficient drug accumulation in tumors severely limits the antitumor efficiency of hyaluronic acid (HA) nanomedicine in solid tumors due to superficial penetration depth, low cell uptake, and nonspecific drug release. Hence, we constructed a dual NO prodrug (alkynyl-JSK) and doxorubicin prodrug (-DOX)-conjugated HA nanoparticle (HA-DOX-JSK NPs), which achieved cascade-boosted drug delivery efficiency based on a relay strategy of NO-mediated deep tumor penetration─HA target CD44 tumor cell uptake─tumor microenvironment (TME)-responsive drug release. The nanoparticle demonstrated sustained and locoregionally GSH/GST-triggered NO release and GSH/pH-responsive DOX release in the tumor.

Fragrance is a valuable trait in rice varieties, with its aroma significantly influencing consumer preference. In this study, we conducted comprehensive metabolome and transcriptome analyses to elucidate the genetic and biochemical basis of fragrance in the Shangsixiangnuo (SSXN) variety, a fragrant indica rice cultivated in Guangxi, China. Through sensory evaluation and genetic analysis, we confirmed SSXN as strongly fragrant, with an 806 bp deletion in the gene associated with fragrance production.

Many insect pests, including the brown planthopper (BPH), undergo windborne migration that is challenging to observe and track. It remains controversial about their migration patterns and largely unknown regarding the underlying genetic basis. By analyzing 360 whole genomes from around the globe, we clarify the genetic sources of worldwide BPHs and illuminate a landscape of BPH migration showing that East Asian populations perform closed-circuit journeys between Indochina and the Far East, while populations of Malay Archipelago and South Asia undergo one-way migration to Indochina.

In this study, we present a strategic approach for the structural design and composite modification of one-dimensional Sn-based nanocomposites to enhance the overall electrochemical performance of hybrid magnesium-lithium batteries (MLIBs), which are emerging as promising successors to lithium-ion batteries. By using electrospinning technology, we successfully synthesized NST-SnO, NST-SnO-NiO, Sn-CNF, and NiSn-CNF composite cathodes, as well as analyzed the synthesis mechanism of the four Sn-based cathodes. The 100-cycle testing at a current density of 500 mA·g revealed that NST-SnO maintained a discharge specific capacity of 129.
