Calcium β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (CaHMB), a functional calcium salt, is used to maintain and improve muscle health. Here, a new hydrogel material prepared from alginate (ALG) with three M/G ratios (1:1, 2:1, and 1:2) and CaHMB (0-2 mg/mL) was investigated. CaHMB regulates the formation and properties of ALG hydrogels through chelation and hydrogen bonding.

In this study, CG and black wolfberry anthocyanin (BWA), CG and maltitol (ML) hybrid gels were constructed using CG hybrid gel as matrix. The effects of BWA or ML on the gel properties and microstructure of CG hybrid gels were investigated and a confectionery gel was developed.

Although the traditional atomic absorption method, electrochemical method and other metal ion detection methods are highly sensitive, the operation is complex, expensive and limited by the site. Therefore, we prepared the N, S-CQDs capable of detecting Hg and MnO in water with the advantages of simple operation, low cost, and direct visual signal.

Previously, we extracted bound polyphenols from the inner shell of foxtail millet bran (BPIS).

Novel strategies to reverse chemoresistance in colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common gastrointestinal malignancy with high morbidity and fatality. Chemotherapy, as traditional therapy for CRC, has exerted well antitumor effect and greatly improved the survival of CRC patients. Nevertheless, chemoresistance is one of the major problems during chemotherapy for CRC and significantly limits the efficacy of the treatment and influences the prognosis of patients.

[Countertraction method for reduction of irreducible subcoracoid dislocation of the shoulder joint with Hill-Sacks lesion].

Objective: To investigate clinical outcomes of countertraction method in treating irreducible subcoracoid dislocation of shoulder joint combined with Hill-Sacks injury.

Methods: A total of 56 patients with irreducible subcoracoid dislocation of the shoulder joint combined with Hill-Sacks injury admitted from December 2013 to June 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Under the anesthesia of shoulder joint cavity injection, the reduction was performed by using anti-traction method (experimental group) and traditional Hippocrates method (control group), 28 cases in each group.

The potential mechanism of Neu5Gc inducing colorectal cancer based on network pharmacology and experimental validation.

Colorectal cancer has high morbidity and mortality worldwide, especially in western countries; the incidence of colorectal cancer has been high, which is closely related to the high intake of red meat; and the N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc) is responsible for red meat-induced colorectal cancer. A large number of previous studies have suggested that exogenous Neu5Gc-activated inflammation induced the occurrence of colorectal cancer. However, it has not been known whether the Neu5Gc has a direct inducing effect on colorectal cancer.
