Introduction: A novel recombinant antigen-based capture enzyme immunoassay (RAg-CEIA) was optimized and used to determine technical parameters for estimating human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) incidence in China.
Methods: We employed orthogonal experimental design to optimize RAg-CEIA by adjusting raw material dilution ratios. The assay was used to measure normalized optical density (ODn) values in 171 longitudinal plasma specimens from 51 HIV-1 seroconverting individuals, plotted against estimated days post-seroconversion.

Objective: To investigate the intervention of melatonin (MT) in the expression of circadian genes in patients with pulmonary fibrosis and to analyze the mechanism by which it alleviates the progression of pulmonary fibrosis.

Purpose: Primary care access is a key health system metric, but little research has compared models to provide primary care access when one's regular physician is not available. We compared health system use after a visit with a patient's own family physician group (ie, within-group physician who was not the patient's primary physician) vs a visit with a walk-in clinic physician who was not part of the patient's family physician group.
Methods: We conducted a population-based, retrospective cohort study using administrative data from Ontario, Canada, including all individuals formally enrolled with a family physician, from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.
Cholinergic projection neurons of the nucleus basalis and substantia innominata (NBM/SI) densely innervate the basolateral amygdala (BLA) and have been shown to contribute to the encoding of fundamental and life-threatening experiences. Objectives: To explore the current application of high-throughput drug sensitivity (HDS) testing in children with relapsed and refractory acute leukemia (RR-AL) and analyze the feasibility of salvage treatment plans.
Methods: A retrospective collection of clinical data from children with RR-AL who underwent HDS testing at the Department of Children's Hematology and Oncology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from November 2021 to October 2023 was conducted, followed by an analysis of drug sensitivity results and treatment outcomes.
Results: A total of 17 children with RR-AL underwent HDS testing, including 7 cases of relapsed refractory acute myeloid leukemia and 10 cases of relapsed refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Siglec-9 is a promising immune checkpoint molecule, and therapeutics targeting Siglec-9 have the potential to augment anti-tumor immunity. Here, we generated a bispecific antibody, named as aSE4-1-Fc, by fusing two distinct alpaca derived nanobodies, which can simultaneously target the extracellular Ig variable (V)-set domain and C2-set domains of murine Siglec-9 (also known as Siglec-E) with high affinity. In vivo studies showed that aSE4-1-Fc was better than its component antibodies in inhibiting tumor growth/metastasis, and Siglec-E blockade using aSE4-1-Fc generated protective anti-tumor T cell memory.
