Article Synopsis
  • The study examined how intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (Io MRI) impacts overall and progression-free survival, along with the extent of tumor removal in glioma patients.
  • A total of 153 glioma patients were analyzed, with 125 receiving Io MRI guidance during surgery, resulting in a significant reduction in tumor recurrence and improved rates of gross total resection.
  • The findings suggest that using Io MRI enhances surgical outcomes, particularly in patients with lower-grade gliomas, while decreasing tumor burden and improving the chances of maximizing resection during initial surgery.

Objective: Behçet's Disease (BD) is a chronic multisystem vasculitis that manifests with destructive inflammation affecting the eyes, central nervous system, and blood vessels. The pathology of vein involvement in BD is poorly characterized. Magnetic resonance (MR) venography gives more comprehensive information about deep veins and adjacent tissues.

A 71-year-old male presented with painless and slowly progressive proptosis of the right eye. The patient had no history of cancer and was in good health. Orbital magnetic resonance imaging showed a well-demarcated, slightly lobulated intraconal orbital mass hypo-isointense on T1- weighted and isointense on T2-weighted images, demonstrating contrast enhancement in the right orbit.
