This research work focused on the prevalence of in wild boar from the Sierra Morena region. We conducted an ELISA analysis using meat juice samples. A total of 892 samples from six hunting seasons (2013-2019) were collected from the provinces that constitute the Sierra Morena Mountain range.

We report the case of a 75-year-old man, referred for worsening dyspnea and fever. The electrocardiography (ECG) showed mild ST-elevation in anterior leads, while cardiac echography severe left ventricular (LV) systolic dysfunction with apical ballooning. Later on, ECG showed negative T-waves and QT-prolongation in the same anterior leads and T-waves positivization during fever peak.

Congestive heart failure in hypertensive patients with normal systolic function and dynamic left ventricular outflow obstruction.

Background: Hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy and normal systolic function can develop congestive heart failure refractory to conventional drug therapy with digoxin, diuretic, and vasodilators.

Methods: We studied 8 patients with a history of systemic hypertension (6 females and 2 males, mean age 69+/-6 years), affected by New York Heart Association (NYHA) class IV congestive heart failure notwithstanding conventional drug therapy with digoxin, diuretic, and vasodilators. After clinical history and physical examination, blood chemistry including cardiac enzymes, arterial blood gases, chest roentgenogram, standard 12-lead ECG, and complete echocardiographic study were performed in all patients.

[Efficacy of insulin Lispro in the control of late postprandial hypoglycemia: comparison with regular human insulin].

Background: Lispro insulin a recently developed analogue of human insulin, is more rapidly adsorbed and has a lower duration of activity as compared with regular insulin. This implies a glycemic profile closer to the physiologic one with a reduction of early post-prandial hyperglycemic peak and of drop in late postprandial glycemia. This results in a reduction of mild or severe hypoglycemia occurring during treatment with regular human insulin.

Cloning, sequencing and expression of the ilvBNC gene cluster from Streptomyces avermitilis.

The metabolism of the branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) isoleucine, leucine and valine is correlated to the production of polyketide antibiotics in many streptomycetes. Despite its significance, this biosynthetic pathway is poorly understood in Streptomyces. In order to develop a better understanding of Streptomyces BCCA biosynthesis, two genes, ilvBN and ilvC, encoding acetohydroxy acid synthase (AHS) and acetohydroxy acid isomeroreductase (IR), respectively, were cloned from Streptomyces avermitilis, a strain producing avermectins, potent antiparasitic compounds.

The extent of the relationship among the Socialization, Self-Direction, and Responsibility domains of the Revised Adaptive Behavior Scale was investigated. Based upon the scores of 338 mentally retarded institutionalized male and female children and adults, high positive and significant correlations were obtained among these three domains. The relationship was explained in terms of a possible motivational link among the three domains.
