Objectives: The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate clinicopathologic profile and collagen type I expression in oral leukoplakia and oral squamous cell carcinoma to elucidate stromal alterations in malignant transformation.

Material And Methods: The sample consisted of 40 cases, of which 20 oral leukoplakia (OL) were classified according to World Health Organization and binary systems for grading oral epithelial dysplasia (OED) as well as 20 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), moderately or poorly differentiated. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate morphological alterations and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 expression in the articular cartilage of the mandible under conditions of experimentally induced malocclusion.

Design: Twenty-four 8-week-old female Wistar rats were used and divided into control and experimental groups with two different treatment periods (2 and 4 weeks). We previously reported that female rats placed on a diet containing refined carbohydrates (HCD) resulted in obesity and reproductive abnormalities, such as high serum LH concentration and abnormal ovarian function. Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a severe subtype of epidermolysis bullosa caused by changes in collagen VII with a high risk of early development of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC). This review aimed to discuss the relationship between the recurrent healing process, the appearance of fibrosis, and malignant epithelial transformation in RDEB. We searched PubMed, the Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library, and Embase for articles on the relationship between blistering, recurrent scarring, and fibrosis in the context of cSCC and RDEB.
