Objective: To report the incidence of malignancy in gynaecological organs removed during radical cystectomy (RC).
Patients And Methods: A retrospective multicentre study of 1600 RCs at three high-volume institutions between January 2009 and March 2022 was performed. Pathological findings in gynaecological organs in female RC specimens were reviewed.

Background: Ovarian cancer has the highest mortality amongst all gynaecological malignancies, with around two-thirds of patients diagnosed with advanced disease due to late presentation. Furthermore, around 90% of patients develop recurrence and eventually become chemoresistant. Therefore, there is a high demand to identify biomarkers specific to this disease for screening for early detection, as well as new therapeutic targets.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjectives: Hyperglycemia is associated with an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes, such as heart failure, coronary heart disease, stroke, and in-hospital mortality. For those receiving cardiac surgery, up to half develop hyperglycemia while 30% have a diagnosis of diabetes, which is defined by chronic hyperglycemia. Due to a prothrombic state and endovascular damage, patients with diabetes have a twofold increased risk of cardiovascular events.
