Real-World Experience of Bevacizumab as First-Line Treatment for Ovarian Cancer: The GINECO ENCOURAGE Cohort of 468 French Patients.

Bevacizumab-containing therapy is considered a standard-of-care front-line option for stage IIIB-IV ovarian cancer based on results of randomized phase 3 trials. The multicenter non-interventional ENCOURAGE prospective cohort study assessed treatment administration and outcomes in the French real-world setting. Eligible patients were aged ≥ 18 years with planned bevacizumab-containing therapy for newly diagnosed ovarian cancer.

Safety and efficacy of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant after PD-1 blockade in relapsed/refractory lymphoma.

Anti-programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibodies are being increasingly tested in patients with advanced lymphoma. Following treatment, many of those patients are likely to be candidates for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). However, the safety and efficacy of HSCT may be affected by prior PD-1 blockade.

Role of the HER2 [Ile655Val] genetic polymorphism in tumorogenesis and in the risk of trastuzumab-related cardiotoxicity.

Background: To examine the impact of a frequent her2 gene polymorphism (Ile655Val) on tumor growth and on the pharmacodynamics of treatment by trastuzumab.

Patients And Methods: Experimental study: The growth characteristics of cells expressing the Ile or Val isoform were examined in vitro and after injection into nude mice. The effect of trastuzumab was determined in both experimental models.

Introduction: Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy are X-linked and affect mainly males. The authors report four female cases.

Exegesis: Four patients presented muscular deficiency predominant to lower limbs and chronic disease.

Characterization of centromere alterations in liposarcomas.

Supernumerary ring and large marker chromosomes are a characteristic of atypical lipomas and well-differentiated liposarcomas (ALP-WDLPS) and are composed of amplified 12q14-15 sequences in association with variable segments from other chromosomes. Although stably transmitted, these chromosomes contain centromeric alterations, showing no detectable alpha-satellite sequences. We performed C-banding, fluorescence in situ hybridization, and immunostaining with anti-centromere antibodies in 8 cases of liposarcomas with supernumerary rings and large markers, including 5 ALP-WDLPS and 3 dedifferentiated-LPS and high-grade LPS.
