Evaluation and monitoring of the water quality of an Argentinian urban river applying multivariate statistics.

In this work, we present the water quality assessment of an urban river, the San Luis River, located in San Luis Province, Argentina. The San Luis River flows through two developing cities; hence, urban anthropic activities affect its water quality. The river was sampled spatially and temporally, evaluating ten physicochemical variables on each water sample.

Testosterone is closely related to Leydig cell activity, environmental factors, and androgen receptor distribution in adult male lizards of Liolaemus cuyanus (Reptilia: Liolaemidae) during the reproductive cycle.

The aim of this work is to study plasma testosterone in adult male lizards of Liolaemus cuyanus, an oviparous species, throughout its reproductive cycle and its relationship with Leydig cell histology, TotalLeydigCell/ActiveLeydigCell (TLC/ALC) ratio, environmental factors (temperature, relative humidity and solar irradiation) and ARs distribution in seminiferous epithelium.

Cardiac manifestations of MIS-C: cardiac magnetic resonance and speckle-tracking data.

Catecholamine-induced acute myocardial stunning after accidental intra-operative noradrenaline bolus.

We report a case of catecholamine-induced acute myocardial stunning that occurred in a six-year-old girl. This was triggered by an accidental noradrenaline injection during general anaesthesia for dental surgery. The clinical course was favourable, although cardiac enzymes and echocardiography were significantly altered.

Sustainable reduction of bioreactor contamination in an industrial fermentation pilot plant.

Facility experience primarily in drug-oriented fermentation equipment (producing small molecules such as secondary metabolites, bioconversions, and enzymes) and, to a lesser extent, in biologics-oriented fermentation equipment (producing large molecules such as recombinant proteins and microbial vaccines) in an industrial fermentation pilot plant over the past 15 years is described. Potential approaches for equipment design and maintenance, operational procedures, validation/verification testing, medium selection, culture purity/sterility analysis, and contamination investigation are presented, and those approaches implemented are identified. Failure data collected for pilot plant operation for nearly 15 years are presented and best practices for documentation and tracking are outlined.
