The morphologic features of metastatic high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy have not been described. We conducted a 1-year retrospective, single-institution review of pretreatment biopsy and posttreatment metastases in cases of HGSOC treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Two gynecologic pathologists and 1 pathology resident reviewed 11 cases looking for 6 morphologic features.

However, rare post-therapy morphologic, immunophenotypic, and genomic alterations can occur. This study is to present a case of a patient with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who underwent anti-CD19 CAR-T therapy with disease in the uterus that showed transdifferentiation to a poorly differentiated malignant neoplasm that failed to express any lineage specific markers.

Fine needle aspirations (FNAs) are a valuable tool for the diagnosis of a wide variety of lesions. However, obtaining proficiency in performing FNAs and finding simulated scenarios where one can practice specimen adequacy and slide smearing can all be challenging. Benchtop FNAs of fresh surgical specimens offer a novel training opportunity that addresses these needs.

Unfortunately, recurrent cervical cancer has a dismal prognosis and its management continues to be a growing area of research. While the foundation of treatment remains platinum-based chemotherapies, new techniques such as HIPEC have been evaluated.

Genetic insults in this signaling cascade are increasingly linked to cognitive disorders in humans, where increased GCPII and or decreased NAAG-mGluR3 are associated with impaired prefrontal cortical (PFC) activation and cognitive impairment. As aging is associated with increased inflammation and PFC cognitive deficits, the current study examined GCPII and mGluR3 expression in the aging rat medial PFC, and tested whether GCPII inhibition with 2-(3-mercaptopropyl) pentanedioic acid (2-MPPA) would improve working memory performance.

The authors report their institutional experience with ThyroSeq v3.
Methods: Thyroid FNA specimens diagnosed as either atypia of undetermined significance or follicular lesion of undetermined significance (AUS/FLUS) (Bethesda category III [Bethesda III] according to The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology) or follicular neoplasm/suspicious for follicular neoplasm (FN/SFN) (Bethesda IV) that had ThyroSeq v3 results available from December 2017 through October 2019 were retrieved for analysis.
Background: Molecular testing of thyroid nodules with indeterminate fine-needle aspiration (FNA) cytology is commonly used to guide patient management and is typically performed on freshly collected FNA samples. In this study, the authors evaluated the performance of the ThyroSeq test in cytology smear slides.
Methods: Air-dried Diff-Quik (DQ)-stained and alcohol-fixed Papanicolaou (Pap)-stained smears were used to determine required cellularity and sensitivity of mutation detection and to compare ThyroSeq v3 Genomic Classifier (GC) results obtained in cytology smears and fresh FNA samples from the same nodules.
Laboratory management is a critically important but often overlooked portion of cytopathology training. Indeed, recent surveys of new-in-practice pathologists have consistently shown this to be an area of deficiency. Fortunately, there are a multitude of resources available to fill this need.

In contrast to conventional papillary thyroid carcinomas, NIFTP can be managed conservatively. The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in surgical and pathologic practice patterns at our institution since the introduction of the NIFTP diagnosis in 2016.

Objective.
Biopsy site changes in mediastinal lymph nodes (LNs) attributable to prior endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) have not been studied in a systematic manner. Twenty-four contributors from 14 institutions in 5 countries collaborated via social media (Twitter) to retrospectively review consecutive cases of resected mediastinal LNs from patients with prior EBUS-TBNA. Resected LNs were reexamined by submitting pathologists for changes attributable to EBUS-TBNA.

There is limited literature regarding reproducibility and interobserver variability in the application of the 2014 AGC criteria. Our aim is to assess the interobserver variability of AGC with a focus on how diagnostic categories link with guideline-driven management.

Angiosarcomas are rare malignancies arising from cells of endothelial origin and are aggressive sarcomas that can occur in any anatomic site. They are reported to have predilection for the scalp, extremities and breasts. The incidence of these tumors is increasing, which has been suggested to be attributable to the growing use of radiotherapy to treat breast and other malignancies.

Twitter is being used more and more to share cutting-edge updates from pathology meetings ("live-tweeting"). Modern smartphones can now take high resolution microscopic photographs and easily transmit them worldwide via Twitter, Facebook, and other social media, allowing cytopathologists to share educational pearls and discuss difficult cases on a global scale like never before.

We report genetic association of blood pressure (systolic, diastolic, pulse pressure) among UK Biobank participants of European ancestry with independent replication in other cohorts, and robust validation of 107 independent loci. We also identify new independent variants at 11 previously reported blood pressure loci.

Within the esophageal mucosa, there is a wide variety of immune mediators, chemotactic factors, mediators of transcription, and markers of epithelial differentiation and integrity that are overexpressed or underexpressed in eosinophilic esophagitis, offering many candidates for biomarkers with diagnostic or prognostic potential. In this review, we summarize the results from studies performed so far to evaluate the detection of these markers by immunohistochemistry on esophageal biopsies.

A total of 67 sheep, 62 females, 26 purebred and 36 crossbred with hair breeds, and five males were scored for 10 body measurements in addition to live weight, and four racial and seven functional indices were calculated. The influence of sex and crossbreeding on the body measurements and indices was analyzed by one-way analysis of variance, and morphological harmony was determined using Spearman correlation.

We hypothesized that radical prostatectomy (RP) findings changed as well. All consecutive RPs (n=1348) and first time prostate needle biopsies (n=1719) in a period of 9 years were reviewed.

Prostate biopsies with foci of atypical glands suspicious, but not diagnostic of carcinoma (ATYP) are associated with an increased risk of cancer diagnosis in subsequent biopsies. The significance of similar findings in transurethral resections of the prostate (TURP) is unknown. A total of 1338 specimens without a diagnosis of cancer were retrieved from our surgical pathology files from 1994 through 2014.

Twenty-seven cases of SCC of the scrotum were retrieved, and all 15 subtypes of hrHPV and their viral loads were assessed using multiplex real-time polymerase chain reaction. The results were correlated with the histopathologic features, p16 expression, and in situ hybridization for hrHPV.
