Objective: To establish the diagnostic performance of fine-needle aspiration in detecting benign and malignant neoplasm in comparison with post-thyroidectomy histopathological findings among patients who received a thyroidectomy.
Methods: Retrospective observational data collected between 2011-2021 were included from patients who received partial or total thyroidectomy. The Bethesda system was used to classify neoplasms from fine-needle aspiration procedures as benign or malignant.

This new entity, described by Haberler and colleagues, was named whorling sclerosing variant of meningioma. The patient was a 34-yr-old white man with a large tumor in the brainstem.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMalignant mesothelioma with deciduoid features (MMWDF) is a recently characterized morphologic variant of epithelioid malignant mesothelioma, which frequently is misdiagnosed as peritoneal deciduosis or florid mesothelial hyperplasia. We report on the cytological, histological, immunohistochemical, and autopsy findings of a case of MMWDF arising in the pericardium of a 71-yr-old female patient. Cytology showed large, polygonal to round cells with pale to bright, eosinophilic cytoplasm, occasionally showing xantomatous pattern, containing a pleomorphic and vesicular nucleus with a single prominent nucleolus.
