Background: The number of patients with an immigration background in geriatric healthcare institutions in Germany is growing continuously. The number of medical staff with a migration background is also increasing because of the shortage of qualified employees in the healthcare sector. View Article and Find Full Text PDFPurpose: Although the relevance of interprofessional teamwork in the delivery of patient-centered care is well known, there is a lack of interventions for improving team interaction in the context of rehabilitation in Germany. The aim of the present study is to evaluate whether a specially developed team coaching concept (TCC) could improve both teamwork and patient-centeredness.
Method: A multicenter, cluster-randomized controlled intervention study was conducted with both staff and patient questionnaires.
Aim: Interprofessional education (IPE) is a central feature of modern education in the health care professions. Despite this, empirically founded and systematically structured IPE courses are absent from many curricula. To answer the WHO's call for improved interprofessional collaboration in the health care system, a seminar was designed, implemented and evaluated.
