Septic Arthritis in an Immunocompetent Adult: A Case Report and Review of Literature.

Septic arthritis is a medical emergency that requires prompt diagnosis to prevent long-term intra-articular complications. is an anaerobic gram-negative rod which has been infrequently reported to cause septic arthritis. Histoplasma endocarditis: clinical and mycologic features and outcomes.

Results: Infection involved both native (36 cases) and prosthetic (7) heart valves, had a high rate of systemic embolization (58%), and a more delayed diagnosis than bacterial endocarditis.
