BACKGROUND AL amyloidomas are solitary, localized, tumor-like deposits of immunoglobulin light-chain-derived amyloid fibrils in the absence of systemic amyloidosis. A rare entity, they have been described in various anatomical sites, typically in spatial association with a sparse lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate, ultimately corresponding to a clonal, malignant, lymphomatous disorder accounting for the amyloidogenic activity. Most frequently, the amyloidoma-associated hematological disorder corresponds to either a solitary plasmacytoma or an extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of MALT.

Diagnosis of leprosy in a Nigerian migrant: implementation of surveillance measures in the current migration context.

Background: In Italy, leprosy diagnosis is reported in immigrants from endemic countries or Italians who have stayed in endemic areas. We report the first leprosy case to be observed in a migrant from Nigeria in the Rimini district (Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy).

Methods: After describing the tasks of the various health Institutions in the Italian integrated system for diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance of leprosy, we describe the management and outcomes of the leprosy case and of the patient's contacts.

HPV nonrelated endocervical adenocarcinoma in hereditary cancer syndromes.

Introduction: The relationship between endocervical cancer and cancer susceptibility syndromes is not yet fully understood. We present 2 cases of endocervical cancer: 1 arising in a patient carrier with a pathogenic variant and the second detected in a Lynch syndrome family carrying the germline pathogenic variant.

Case Description: Somatic analyses including loss of heterozygosity and fluorescent in situ hybridization demonstrated that the second hit in patient 1 is -related.

Active Breaks: A Pilot and Feasibility Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Physical Activity Levels in a School Based Intervention in an Italian Primary School.

The school gives access to children, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender and socio-economic class and can be identified as the key environment in which to promote children's physical activity (PA). The guidelines of the European Union recommend accumulating at least 10-min bouts of PA to reach the daily 60 min. Active breaks (ABs) led by teachers inside the classroom represent a good strategy to promote PA.

Measles Immunization Policies and Vaccination Coverage in EU/EEA Countries over the Last Decade.

Background: Starting from 2016, a major measles epidemic affected EU/EEA countries, after the measles incidence rate had progressively decreased from 2011 to 2015.

Methods: This study describes measles incidences (ECDC reports), the vaccination coverages (VCs) (WHO/UNICEF reports) and the vaccination strategies, whether mandatory or recommended (ECDC Vaccine Scheduler), in 30 European countries over the last decade.

Results: VCs were higher in countries with historically mandatory vaccination.

Universal screening to identify Lynch syndrome: two years of experience in a Northern Italian Center.

Lynch syndrome is caused by germline mutations of genes affecting the mismatch repair proteins MLH1, MSH2, MSH6 or PMS2. Identification of Lynch syndrome patients using germline molecular testing in colorectal cancer (CRC) affected patients and in their healthy relatives is a cost-effective model of cancer prevention. Several studies demonstrate that universal tumor testing using immunohistochemical (IHC) analysis of CRC samples is the most efficient approach to identifying patients affected by Lynch syndrome.
