India's COVID-19 lockdowns were among the strictest globally, and sex workers were uniquely impacted. Extremely limited literature has examined pandemic consequences on sex workers. We use a qualitative approach to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns on the lives and livelihoods of sex workers in urban West Bengal, India.

Time-series analysis with smoothed Convolutional Neural Network.

CNN originates from image processing and is not commonly known as a forecasting technique in time-series analysis which depends on the quality of input data. One of the methods to improve the quality is by smoothing the data. This study introduces a novel hybrid exponential smoothing using CNN called Smoothed-CNN (S-CNN).

Bisphosphonates and pathologic complete response to taxane- and anthracycline-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer.

Background: Several studies have suggested that bisphosphonates have an antitumor effect. In the current study, the authors sought to evaluate whether the use of bisphosphonates increased the rate of pathological complete response (pCR) in patients with breast cancer.

Methods: The authors identified 1449 patients with breast cancer who were receiving taxane- and anthracycline-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy between 1995 and 2007 at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
