With the advent of chimeric antigen receptors T-cell therapy, understanding their role in the development of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis has become increasingly complex. We describe a case of a young patient with Epstein-Barr virus-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, who was treated with axicabtagene ciloleucel. The patient developed progressive cytopenia and, on Day 73 post-infusion, met criteria for hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis.

Background and objective Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL Ph+) is quite rare among pediatric patients. Its management has undergone significant changes in the past few years, leading to some variability in how it is approached. At the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto (IPOP), a tertiary oncological center, the standard of care has been aligned with the guidelines proposed by the European intergroup study of post-induction treatment of ALL Ph+ (EsPhALL).

Article Synopsis
  • - Translocatome is a new database focused on human translocating proteins, featuring a curated list of 213 proteins along with their experimental validation sources, translocation mechanisms, and roles in diseases and signaling pathways.
  • - The database employs XGBoost machine learning to predict translocation probabilities for over 13,000 proteins, identifying high-confidence and low-confidence translocating proteins.
  • - With user-friendly search features and downloadable data sets, Translocatome enables researchers to explore protein translocation comprehensively, aiding in the study of this biological phenomenon.

Adrenaline-deficient phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase-knockout mice (Pnmt-KO) have concentric heart remodeling and though their resting blood pressure is normal, it becomes higher during acute exercise. The aim of this study was to evaluate cardiac morphological, functional and molecular alterations after chronic exercise in adrenaline-deficient mice. Genotypes at the Pnmt locus were verified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of ear samples of Pnmt-KO and wild-type (WT) mice.
