Lung ultrasound can be useful for the early diagnosis and treatment of respiratory complications. The combination of air and soft tissue confirms imaging artefacts that can contribute to differentiation between healthy and deteriorated lung tissue. Although non-human primates are often chosen as research models due to their anatomical and physiological similarity to humans, there is a lack of data on the use of lung ultrasound in these individuals.

Background: Platynosomiasis in non-human primates kept under human care causes chronic disease of the bile ducts and liver, which initially presents with nonspecific signs and can culminate in the death of the animal. Diagnosing this disease is a challenge, and an ultrasound examination can be an excellent tool when it is suspected.
Methods: This study describes the ultrasound findings from 57 marmosets with suspected infection by Platynosomum sp.
Background And Objectives: Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) have great therapeutic potential, particularly in the process of tissue repair and immunomodulation through the secretion of biomolecules. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the hypothesis that intramuscular transplantation of allogeneic MSCs obtained from equine umbilical cord (UC-MSCs) is safe, demonstrating that this is a suitable source of stem cells for therapeutic use.
Methods And Results: For this, UC-MSCs were cultured, characterized and cryopreserved for future transplantation in six healthy mares.
