The main goal of this tutorial is to promote the study of children with developmental language disorder (DLD) across different languages of the world. The cumulative effect of these efforts is likely to be a set of more compelling and comprehensive theories of language learning difficulties and, possibly, of language acquisition in general. Here, we have connected cell models of key metabolic organs, the pancreas and liver, on a microfluidic chip to enable diabetes research in a human-based in vitro system. Aided by mechanistic mathematical modeling, we demonstrate that hyperglycemia and high cortisone concentration induce glucose dysregulation in the pancreas-liver microphysiological system (MPS), mimicking a diabetic phenotype seen in patients with glucocorticoid-induced diabetes.

In this study, we evaluated the sensitivity and specificity of these two measures using a new group of children with DLD. To determine whether these measures would likely add to diagnostic decision making if used in conjuncion with other tests of language, we also examined the relationship between scores on these two measures and scores on a standardized test with a grammatical emphasis.

Methods: Patients included in the National Cancer Database from 2014 to 2017 with clinical T1 to T4 and node-positive disease who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy before surgical axillary management were evaluated.
Introduction: As part of the 21st Century Cures Act (April 2021), electronic health information (EHI) must be immediately released to patients. In this study, we sought to evaluate clinician and patient perceptions regarding this immediate release.
Methods: After surveying 33 clinicians and 30 patients, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a subset of the initial sample, comprising 8 clinicians and 12 patients.
The fundamental basis of T cell memory remains elusive. It is established that antigen stimulation drives clonal proliferation and differentiation, but the relationship between cellular phenotype, replicative history, and longevity, which is likely essential for durable memory, has proven difficult to elucidate. To address these issues, we used conventional markers of differentiation to identify and isolate various subsets of CD8 memory T cells and measured telomere lengths in these phenotypically defined populations using the most sensitive technique developed to date, namely single telomere length analysis (STELA).

We assessed the contribution of patient, tumor, and facility factors on cALND use in patients undergoing mastectomy and SLN biopsy.
Patients And Methods: Using the National Cancer Database, patients diagnosed from 2012 to 2017 who underwent upfront mastectomy and SLN biopsy with at least one positive SLN were included.
Purpose: In this study, we aimed to determine the incidence of receptor conversions after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for breast cancer and assess the rate at which receptor conversion leads to changes in adjuvant therapy regimens.
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of female breast cancer patients treated with NAC at an academic breast center between January 2017 and October 2021. Patients with residual disease on surgical pathology and complete receptor status information for both pre-NAC and post-NAC specimens were included.
Purpose: In English and related languages, many preschool-age children with developmental language disorder (DLD) have difficulties using tense and agreement consistently. In this review article, we discuss two potential input-related sources of this difficulty and offer several possible strategies aimed at circumventing input obstacles.
