The gastric mucosal change accompanying gastric antral intestinal metaplasia (IM) in the pediatric population and its clinical implications remain unclear. We retrieved all patients younger than 18 years who had upper GI endoscopy with a pathology diagnosis of antral IM between 2009 and 2020. Each biopsy was evaluated for the presence of dysplasia, , gastritis, and other pathologic changes.

Based on our observation that the BET inhibitor JQ1 increases levels of DNA damage, we evaluated the efficacy of JQ1 + the PARPi olaparib in preclinical models of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: To investigate the clinical value of p53 codon 72 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and variants of adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) in hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs).
Methods: DNA and RNA from 51 HCCs and their matching, uninvolved liver tissues were analyzed for p53 mutations, and the methylation and expression of APC variants were determined. Proliferation of each HCC was assessed by Ki67 immunohistochemistry.
Aim: To compare the interpretation of probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) findings between endoscopists and gastrointestinal (GI)-pathologists.
Methods: All pCLE procedures were undertaken and the endoscopist rendered assessment. The same pCLE videos were then viewed offline by an expert GI pathologist.
Background And Study Aims: The over-the-scope clip (OTSC; Ovesco Endoscopy, Tübingen, Germany) is deployed after suctioning tissue into the cap. The tissue may then be resected endoscopically. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the OTSC for the endoscopic resection of gastrointestinal tumors.

Moreover, bladder carcinoma can be associated with a proliferative/desmoplastic myofibroblastic response that can resemble smooth muscle and potentially lead to overdiagnosis of muscularis propria invasion. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential role of immunohistochemistry in staging bladder carcinoma by evaluating the expression of different markers in myofibroblasts and nonvascular smooth muscle cells in 15 cases of invasive bladder carcinoma.
