Purpose: To validate the reproducibility of a chemical shift imaging (CSI) acquisition protocol with parallel imaging, using automated repositioning software.
Materials And Methods: Ten volunteers were imaged three times on two different 3 Tesla (T) MRI scanners, receiving anatomical imaging and two identical CSI measurements, using automated repositioning software for consistent repositioning of the CSI grid. Offcenter parameters of the CSI plane were analyzed.
Purpose: To compare lesion conspicuity and image quality between single-shot spin echo echo planar imaging (SS SE-EPI) before, immediately and 5min after intravenous (IV) injection of superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) for detecting and characterizing focal liver lesions (FLLs).
Materials And Methods: Twenty-five patients suspected for colorectal liver metastases were prospectively included. Lesion detection and characterization were compared between all SS SE-EPI and T2-weighted turbo spin echo (T2w TSE) sets (two-sided Fisher's exact test).
Fluoro-18-deoxyglucose positron emission tomography computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), including unenhanced single-shot spin-echo echo planar imaging (SS SE-EPI) and small paramagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) enhancement, were compared prospectively for detecting colorectal liver metastases. Twenty-four consecutive patients suspected for metastases underwent MRI and FDG-PET/CT. Fourteen patients (58%) had previously received chemotherapy, including seven patients whose chemotherapy was still continuing to within 1 month of the PET/CT study.

Methods: We performed a prospective blind comparison of magnetic resonance elastography, ultrasound elastography, and APRI in a consecutive series of patients who underwent liver biopsy for chronic liver disease in a university-based hospital. Histopathologic staging of liver fibrosis according to the METAVIR scoring system served as the reference.
The order parameters of a number of different solutes dissolved in a number of different nematic liquid-crystal solvents are measured and compared. It is shown that the order parameters can all be rationalized with the ansatz that there exist two independent ordering mechanisms operating in the liquid crystals employed. With this ansatz it is possible to fit the experimental order parameters to better than 5%.
