Geo-Climatic Factors of Malaria Morbidity in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 2001 to 2019.

Background: Environmentally related morbidity and mortality still remain high worldwide, although they have decreased significantly in recent decades. This study aims to forecast malaria epidemics taking into account climatic and spatio-temporal variations and therefore identify geo-climatic factors predictive of malaria prevalence from 2001 to 2019 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Methods: This is a retrospective longitudinal ecological study.

Severity of outcomes associated to illnesses funded by GFATM initiative and socio demographic and economic factors associated with HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria mortality in Kinshasa Hospitals, DRC.

Background: For the past decades, developing countries have received considerable support to fight infectious illnesses in their homelands. This global effort has tremendously reduced case fatality rates associated with illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in many countries. However, this information is still missing in some developing countries, hindering international effort for control programs; we designed this study in effort to close this gap.

Knowledge, behaviours, practices and beliefs regarding Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT) among inhabitants of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo).

Background: In Kinshasa, an average of less than 50 new cases of Human African Trypanosomiasis was notified, per year, between 1969 and 1995. The situation of endemic sleeping sickness suddenly worsened in 1996 with 254 new cases identified thanks to passive detection. No study dealing with conceptions relative to sleeping sickness was ever listed to date.
