Objetivo: Identificar factores de riesgo asociados a complicaciones mayores en pacientes con pielonefritis xantogranulomatosa sometidos a nefrectomía.

MÉtodo: Análisis retrospectivo de expedientes clínicos de pacientes con pielonefritis xantogranulomatosa sometidos a nefrectomía. Se analizaron el sexo, el índice de masa corporal, el índice de comorbilidad de Charlson, la clasificación del estado físico de la American Society of Anesthesiologists, la etapa de Malek, el conteo leucocitario y los valores de creatinina.

A novel surgical technique for extraperitoneal radical prostatectomy with using 3 trocars: Results after 154 cases.

Recently laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) is a minimally invasive surgical option for prostate cancer (PCa) treatment in the lack of robot. To eliminate numbers of trocars and to modify surgical technique can make the LRP procedure easier. We aimed to introduce our novel approach on LRP by using just only 3 trocars and to compare conventional extraperitoneal LRP (eLRP) with 3 trocars eLRP.

Subcommittee fails to recommend legal reforms needed to promote human rights of sex workers.

In December 2006, the House of Commons Subcommittee on Solicitation Laws released its longawaited report on the criminal laws related to prostitution in Canada, entitled The Challenge of Change: A Study of Canada's Criminal Prostitution Laws. The Subcommittee's report fails to call for amendments to the Criminal Code provisions which have been demonstrated to increase the health and safety threats faced by sex workers. The Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and two sex worker organizations, Stella and Maggie's, jointly published an analysis of the report.
