Article Synopsis
  • - The article aims to evaluate the prevalence and severity of dental fluorosis among 12-year-olds and 15 to 19-year-olds in Passo Fundo, Brazil, while also exploring associations with factors like age, gender, ethnicity, and geographic location of schools.
  • - The study involved 633 schoolchildren from 26 public schools and used Dean's Index for examination, revealing a 32.8% prevalence of dental fluorosis, predominantly classified as very light (78.4%).
  • - Although the prevalence was significant, the overall severity of dental fluorosis was low, with findings suggesting that age and the presence of dental caries may influence the results.
