Objective: To assess the educational impact of a worldwide webinar approach to myopia progression management in children <8 years and 8-12 years old.

Design: Cross-sectional study.

Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted for attendees of a 3 h worldwide webinar held in two parts on consecutive days on the management of myopia progression in children.

Purpose: Children and youth who belong to a racially minoritized group commonly experience multiple and complex forms of discrimination and health disparities. The purpose of this review was to explore racial disparities in health care and health outcomes among children and youth with physical disabilities.

Methods: Six international databases (Ovid Medline, Healthstar, Embase, PsycINFO, Scopus, and Web of Science) were searched and screened for inclusion.

Chromogenic Photonic Crystal Detectors for Monitoring Small Molecule Diffusion at Solid-Solid Interfaces Using Stimuli-Responsive Shape Memory Polymers.

In situ monitoring of small molecule diffusion at solid-solid interfaces is challenging, even with sophisticated equipment. Here, novel chromogenic photonic crystal detectors enabled by integrating bioinspired structural color with stimuli-responsive shape memory polymer (SMP) for detecting trace amounts of small molecule interfacial diffusion are reported. Colorless macroporous SMP membranes with deformed macropores can recover back to the "memorized" photonic crystal microstructures and the corresponding iridescent structural colors when triggered by diffused small molecules.

Purpose: Children with disabilities and their families are more likely to live in poverty than those without a disability. However, little is known about their lived experiences and the circumstances that influence their socio-economic condition. The aim of this study was to understand the experiences and factors affecting poverty among families raising children with disabilities.

Background: Individuals with migraine are recognized to have a heightened risk of depression compared to the general population. The COVID-19 pandemic and associated public health restrictions exacerbated several known risk factors for depression, but limited longitudinal research has examined the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of people with migraine.

Aim: To examine the cumulative incidence of depression and recurrent depression among older adults with migraine, and to identify factors associated with depression among older adults with migraine during the pandemic.

Reconfigurable Antireflection Coatings Enabled by PDMS Oligomer Infusion in Templated Nanoporous Polymer Films.

The diffusion of uncured polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) oligomers out of bulk PDMS elastomers is usually detrimental to many biomedical and microfluidic applications due to the inevitable contamination of the contacting fluids and substrates. Here, we transform this detrimental process into an enabling technology for achieving novel reconfigurable antireflection (AR) coatings, which are of great technological importance in the development of new nano-optical and optoelectronic applications. Musculoskeletal modeling and movement simulation for structural hip disorder research: A scoping review of methods, validation, and applications.

Musculoskeletal modeling is a powerful tool to quantify biomechanical factors typically not feasible to measure , such as hip contact forces and deep muscle activations. While technological advancements in musculoskeletal modeling have increased accessibility, selecting the appropriate modeling approach for a specific research question, particularly when investigating pathological populations, has become more challenging. The purposes of this review were to summarize current modeling and simulation methods in structural hip disorder research, as well as evaluate model validation and study reproducibility.

Impact of a regulatory target and external factors on the waste efficiency of Italian municipalities.

Due to increasing consumption and urbanisation, urban waste management and recycling are a primary concern in Italy. Italian waste collection underwent significant reform with the introduction of a sorted collection target of 65% of total collected waste in Legislative Decree No. 152/2006.

Durvalumab plus gemcitabine and cisplatin in advanced biliary tract cancer: A large real-life worldwide population.

Background: The TOPAZ-1 phase III trial showed a survival benefit with durvalumab plus gemcitabine and cisplatin in patients with advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC). To understand this combination's real-world efficacy and tolerability, we conducted a global multicenter retrospective analysis of its first-line treatment outcomes.

Methods: We included patients with unresectable, locally advanced, or metastatic BTC treated with durvalumab, gemcitabine, and cisplatin at 39 sites in 11 countries (Europe, the United States, and Asia).

A randomized phase II trial of Captem or Folfiri as second-line therapy in neuroendocrine carcinomas.

Background: Neuroendocrine Carcinomas (NECs) prognosis is poor.No standard second-line therapy is currently recognized after failure of platinum-based first-line treatment. FOLFIRI and CAPTEM regimens have shown promising activity in preliminary studies.

Viable eco-efficiency targets for waste collection communities.

Waste management is crucial for advancing the circular economy, and Italy has begun to address this issue by organizing municipalities into collaborative communities of municipalities, named ATOs. In this paper, we propose a quantitative approach based on conditional efficiency analysis to estimate viable eco-efficiency targets for these waste collection communities. The proposed targets are both eco-efficient, because they reflect optimal resource allocation within the eco-efficiency framework, and viable, because they consider the unique specificities of each waste community.

Criminal behaviors and substance use disorder in psychiatric patients.

Objective: People with mental illness are overrepresented throughout the criminal justice system. In Italy, the Judicial Psychiatric Hospitals are now on the edge of their closure in favor of small-scale therapeutic facilities (REMS). Therefore, when patients end their duty for criminal behaviors, their clinical management moves back to the outpatient psychiatric centers.

Sexual satisfaction and its predictors in patients with advanced cancer and their family caregivers in six European countries: Baseline data from the DIAdIC study.

Objective: To identify predictors of sexual satisfaction in patients with advanced cancer and their family caregivers.

Methods: Cross-sectional study using baseline survey data from a randomized controlled trial in six European countries. Patients with advanced cancer and their family caregiver completed measures on sexual satisfaction (one item from Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General questionnaire for patients and Caregiver Quality of Life Index-Cancer scale for family caregivers) and health-related characteristics.
