Introduction: Benzodiazepines are considered to negatively affect seizure quality and duration during electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Several researchers have advocated the use of flumazenil, a competitive benzodiazepine receptor antagonist, for patients treated with benzodiazepines during ECT.
