Background: This study aims to compare outcomes of robotic cholecystectomy (RC) versus laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in the setting of a level 1 trauma center.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study of our hospital data (2021-2024) on patients who underwent LC or RC. Using a previously validated intraoperative grading system, four grades of cholecystitis were defined as mild (A), moderate (B), severe (C), and extreme (D).
Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV co-infections are extensively overlapping, especially in developing countries. HIV infection is known as a major risk factor for the reactivation of latent TB into active TB. Although not fully understood and needs further study, HIV infection might enhance the reactivation of latent TB by breaching immune control mechanisms.

Understanding the pathobiology of the fibroblast in IPF is critical to evaluating and discovering novel therapeutics. Using a decellularized lung matrix derived from patients with IPF, we generate three-dimensional hydrogels as in vitro models of lung physiology and characterize the phenotype of fibroblasts seeded into the hydrogels.

The demographics between the two groups were similar-severity of deformity, ASA Score for general anesthesia, patient age, gender, number of spinal levels instrumented, number of patients with prior spinal surgery, and amount of neurologic compression. The intraoperative CT scanning added several objective factors improving patient safety.

The disease is among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in developing countries, but there have been limited recent studies about the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, and multidrug resistance patterns of Salmonella isolates from various clinical specimens.
Objective: Aimed to assess the prevalence, antimicrobial resistance, and multidrug resistance patterns of Salmonella isolates from clinical specimens at the University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialised Hospital, northwestern Ethiopia.
Background: Lipomyelomeningocele associated with an ulnar club hand in the spectrum of VACTERL association ([costo-]vertebral abnormalities; anal atresia; cardiac defects; tracheal-esophageal abnomalities, including atresia, stenosis, and fistula; renal and radial abnormalities; limb abnormalities; single umbilical artery) is a very rare and infrequently reported phenomenon. Within the fat mass of the lipoma, it is not common to find a well-defined cartilaginous mass with no attachments to the surrounding tissue.
Observations: The authors present the case of a 3-month-old male with low-back swelling that was off-center to the left, accompanied by a left short forearm displaying outward bowing.
Background: Depression is a psychiatric disorder that is characterized by persistent sadness and a lack of interest or pleasure in previously rewarding and enjoyable activities. It is one of the leading mental disorders among prisoners worldwide. However, little attention is given to this condition, especially in developing countries.

ADHD and ASD have complex genetic associations implicated by rare recurrent copy number variations (CNVs). Both of these NDDs have been shown to share similar biological etiologies as well as genetic pleiotropy.

Perceptions and practices of rural households toward animal welfare are influenced by socio-cultural, demographic, and agroecological factors. We conducted Community Conversations in two geographically and culturally diverse regions of Ethiopia to explore the attitudes and practices of rural households regarding animal welfare and its impact on livelihoods.

We recruited 15 treatment naïve HIV patients and 16 healthy controls (HC) to assess NK cell subsets or expression of multiple markers by flow cytometry. The frequency of circulating CD56CD16 and CD56CD16 NK cell subsets was significantly lower among the HIV group than in HC.

An expanding set of literature analyzes these investments, often using case study and comparative approaches. While this is important, not all agricultural investments are equal, yet they are often described as being such.

The study aims to estimate the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccination side effects among early vaccinated healthcare workers in Adama hospital medical college.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out between March and June 2021, following the vaccination of COVID-19 vaccine among healthcare workers in Adama hospital medical college.
Respiratory viral infection (RVI) in lung transplant recipients (LTRs) is a risk for chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD). We hypothesize that donor-derived cell-free DNA (%ddcfDNA), at the time of RVI predicts CLAD progression. We followed 39 LTRs with RVI enrolled in the Genomic Research Alliance for Transplantation for 1 year.

Therefore, this study aimed to assess contraceptive compliance among rural women of the reproductive age group in the Awi zone, Northwest Ethiopia.
Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted on 2341sampled rural women's reproductive age group from Jan to April 30; 2021G.
The future of coronary artery bypass graft can be bright if cardiac surgeons will change the paradigm followed so far and will return in history, abandoning the current comfortable life and accepting the burden represented by the cost of innovation, which has a path already mapped out but not sufficiently trodden for guilty lack of commitment.

In countries with limited resources and poor hygiene practices, there is a substantial overlap of intestinal helminthic and chronic infections like HIV, TB, and cancer. Intestinal helminths like , , and hookworm cause malnutrition and induce a type-2 immune response that could worsen the severity and clinical outcomes of patients with cancer.

Methods: While all participants were tested for malaria by rapid diagnostic test (RDT), microscopy was only done on physician's request.
Introduction: foodborne disease (FBD) is a major public health problem globally. Inadequate food workers' knowledge, attitude, and low level of food handling practices (FHPs) may all contribute to the possibility of FBD outbreaks in public food service establishments. This study aimed to assess FHPs and associated factors among food handlers working in public food and drink service establishments in Woldia town, Northeast Ethiopia.

In this study, the frequency of RLS-like symptoms was assessed using a validated instrument in 3,266 patients undergoing cardiac catheterization (mean age 64 years, 62% male, 23% Black, and 74% with obstructive CAD). Patients were followed for primary end points of cardiovascular death or incident myocardial infarction.

Zidovudine (AZT), which is one of the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor drug families of the first line antiretroviral therapy regimen for HIV/AIDS patients, causes anemia due to early long-term of higher-dose therapy. This study was aimed to assess the magnitude and associated factors of anemia among AZT containing HAART experienced adult HIV/ADIS patients at University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialized Referral Hospital, northwest, Ethiopia, 2019.

Eight years after a left anterior small thoracotomy followed by left anterior descending (LAD) stenting for STEMI in first postoperative day, a 67-years-old woman had an NSTEMI with angiographic evidence of intrastent re-stenosis with a perfectly patent LITA, harvested only from the fourth to the sixth intercostal space. During redo surgery, LITA was harvested as a pedicle from the anastomosis to the fourth intercostal space and primarily from the first to the fourth intercostal space.
