Temozolomide (TMZ) is part of the therapeutic armamentarium used in managing pediatric cancers; however, available oral forms (capsules) are not adapted for use in children. Our aim was to assess the dose accuracy and stability of TMZ using capsule contents mixed with food compared with a novel, ready-to-use liquid formulation specifically developed for children (Ped-TMZ, brand name KIZFIZO). Dose accuracy and TMZ stability testing were performed with TMZ capsule contents (90 mg) mixed with food vehicles (apple juice, apple sauce, cream, milk, and mashed potatoes) and compared to an equivalent dose of Ped-TMZ.

Background: Temozolomide (TMZ) oral suspension (Ped-TMZ, KIZFIZO) is being developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory neuroblastoma, a rare cancer affecting infants and young children. Maternal severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy may impact fetal development via vertical transmission, complications of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), or placental injury. However, potential associations between prenatal SARS-CoV-2 infection and fetal loss are not well understood. This case series of thirteen second and third trimester fetal losses reported by local public health departments to California's state public health surveillance included maternal clinical and demographic characteristics as well as placental pathology, fetal autopsy reports, and coroner report.

Photonastic materials present a directional and repeatable deformation of the material shape due to transduction from light energy to mechanical energy. Among these materials, light-responsive polymers, composed of photochromic molecules embedded in a polymer matrix, are of high interest. The full tensorial surface stress of an interface between a face-centered cubic crystal (copper) and an isotropic liquid (methane) is computed for two crystal orientations {100} and {110} using molecular dynamics simulations. The bulk crystal orientation {100} is symmetric, whereas the {110} orientation is not. Finite size effects, which can be important in the case of an interface between an isotropic solid and a liquid, are studied in detail for the two crystal orientations.

The surface tension of a model solid/liquid interface constituted of a graphene sheet surrounded by liquid methane has been computed using molecular dynamics in the Kirkwood-Buff formalism. We show that contrary to the fluid/fluid case, the solid/liquid case can lead to different structurations of the first fluid layer, leading to significantly different values of surface tension. Therefore we present a statistical approach that consists in running a series of molecular simulations of similar systems with different initial conditions, leading to a distribution of surface tensions from which an average value and uncertainty can be extracted.

Studies in farmers suggest a possible role of pesticides in the occurrence of Central Nervous System (CNS) tumors but scientific evidence is still insufficient. Using data from the French prospective agricultural cohort AGRICAN (Agriculture & Cancer), we investigated the associations between exposure of farmers and pesticide users to various kinds of crops and animal farming and the incidence of CNS tumors, overall and by subtypes. Over the 2005-2007, 181,842 participants completed the enrollment questionnaire that collected a complete job calendar with lifetime history of farming types.
