Crown-ether coordination compounds of europium(II/III) and the crown ether (CHO) (24-crown-8, 24c8) are prepared, aiming at novel compounds, structures, and coordination modes as well as potential luminescence properties. By reacting EuCl, EuI, or EuCl with 24c8 or its derivatives in ionic liquids, the novel compounds [BuMeN][Eu(II)(NTf)] (), [BMIm][EuI] (), [EuCl(dibenzo-18c6)] (), [EuI(dibenzo-24c8)] (), [(Eu(III)Cl)(CHO)](24c8) (), and [Eu(III)Cl(24c8)]I () are obtained (BMIm: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium; EMIm: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium). Based on different reaction conditions, different coordinative modes including the absence of the crown ether in the product (, ), splitting of the crown ether (), and coordination of 24c8 via six of eight oxygen atoms () and, finally, via all oxygen atoms () are observed.

Here, we report results from an extensive analysis of NDMA content along the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing process as well as two different drug product manufacturing processes. Our findings confirm that Metformin API is not a significant source of NDMA found in Metformin pharmaceuticals and that NDMA is created at those steps of the drug product manufacturing that introduce heat and nitrite.

Histologic examination revealed diffuse and interstitial eosinophilic infiltrate admixed with lymphocytes and macrophages that predominantly involve the dermis. Nodular aggregates of eosinophils surrounding dermal collagen fibers suggestive of 'flame figures' were identified.

Naturally thymus-derived Tregs (nTregs) represent the major suppressive phenotype and can be identified by their demethylation status in the Tregs Specific Demethylated Region (TSDR) of the Forkhead-Box-P3 (FOXP3) gene using quantitative PCR (qPCR).
Design And Methods: The analytical performance of a TSDR demethylation qPCR assay was assessed in whole blood of healthy individuals (HI) and kidney transplant recipients (KTR).
Oocytes undergo a range of complex processes via oogenesis, maturation, fertilization, and early embryonic development, eventually giving rise to a fully functioning organism. To understand proteome composition and diversity during maturation of human oocytes, here we have addressed crucial aspects of oocyte collection and proteome analysis, resulting in the first proteome and secretome maps of human oocytes. Starting from 100 oocytes collected via a novel serum-free hanging drop culture system, we identified 2,154 proteins, whose function indicate that oocytes are largely resting cells with a proteome that is tailored for homeostasis, cellular attachment, and interaction with its environment via secretory factors.

Purpose: To compare quality of life (QoL) in patients with uveal melanoma after enucleation and stereotactic radiosurgery to that in an age-matched patient collective.
Methods: QoL was assessed in a cross-sectional survey and compared among 32 uveal melanoma patients after enucleation, 48 patients after stereotactic radiosurgery (CyberKnife(®); Accuray(®) Incorporated, Sunnyvale, CA, USA), and an age-matched control group of 35 patients, using the SF-12 Health Survey. Statistical analysis was performed with Fisher's exact test, Student's t test, one-way ANOVA analysis, Wilcoxon rank-sum (Mann-Whitney test), and ordered logistic regression for multivariate analysis.
