A psychometric study of an executive function assessment instrument (TDI-FE).

Background: This study aims to present and discuss the psychometric properties of executive functions, which were measured using the TDI-FE instrument. The analysis encompasses its internal structure, potential sensitivity to fatigue factors, relationships with external criteria, and diagnostic accuracy.

Methods: The study sample comprised 382 students from Brazil, aged 6-8 years.

Tobacco Influence on Taste and Smell: Systematic Review of the Literature.

 In Brazil, estimates show that 14.7% of the adult population smokes, and changes in smell and taste arising from tobacco consumption are largely present in this population, which is an aggravating factor to these dysfunctions.  The objective of this study is to systematically review the findings in the literature about the influence of smoking on smell and taste.

Risk factors for proper oral language development in children: a systematic literature review.

Purpose: To conduct a systematic review of literature production related to risk factors for proper oral language development in children.

Methods: We used the terms "child language," "risk factors," and "randomized controlled trial" in MEDLINE (accessed via PubMed), Lilacs, SciELO, and The Cochrane Library from January 1980 to February 2014. Randomized controlled trials involving the study of some risk factors related to child language were included.

Child language interventions in public health: a systematic literature review.

Purpose: Systematically review the literature on interventions in children's language in primary health care.

Methods: One searched the electronic databases (January 1980 to March 2013) MEDLINE (accessed by PubMed), Scopus, Lilacs and Scielo. The search terms used were "child language", "primary health care", "randomized controlled trial" and "intervention studies" (in English, Portuguese and Spanish).

Correlation between vestibular test results and self-reported psychological complaints of patients with vestibular symptoms.

Unlabelled: Cognitive and emotional factors may affect balance; psychiatric conditions are a common component in patient dizziness. The treatment of patients with vertigo may be affected to a greater degree by the suffering due to this disease than by the severity of organic changes.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate associations between vestibular test results and self-reported psychological complaints in patients evaluated during 2009 in an audiology unit at a hospital in Porto Alegre.

Executive functions and sustained attention: Comparison between age groups of 19-39 and 40-59 years old.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate whether there are differences in performance on neuropsychological tasks of executive functions and sustained attention between two age groups.

Methods: The sample consisted of 87 adults aged from 19 to 59 years old, divided into two groups according to the age variable (younger adults and middle-aged adults).
