Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy using sodium iodide (NaI) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as contrast agent in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanning, and compare this with micro-CT.
Methods: 18 teeth were cracked artificially by soaking them cyclically in liquid nitrogen and hot water. After pre-treatment with artificial saliva, the teeth were scanned in four modes: CBCT routine scanning without contrast agent (RS); CBCT with meglumine diatrizoate (MD) as contrast agent (ES1); CBCT with NaI + DMSO as contrast agent (ES2); and micro-CT (mCT).

Objective: The aim of this study is to treat calcified root canal and assess the accuracy of guided endodontics using laser melting templates.
Methods: Two cases with calcified anterior teeth were treated with laser melting templates. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was used to scan the maxillary teeth of patients before surgery to establish the root canal system model.

Purpose: To investigate the sealing ability of biological root canal sealer iRoot SP in over-root canal filling. METHODS:After completion of root canal preparation, 48 extracted human single-canal teeth were used. The ratio of mesio-distal root canal diameter to bucco-lingual diameter was less than 0.

Objective: To investigate the optimal dosage and timing for 5-bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) labeling of endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) from rat circulating blood.
Methods: The animal model for rat tooth movement was established. EPCs were obtained by density gradient centrifugation.

Objective: To study the apoptotic effect on the squamous cell carcinoma cell line TCa83 induced by recombined adenovirus vector containing TRAIL gene and CMV promoter.
Methods: The TCa83 cell line was firstly infected with different titre of AdCMV-EGFP containing enhanced green fluorescence protein gene (EGFP) as control, and investigated the transducing rate through fluorescence to obtain the definite titre. Then TCa83 cell line was infected with AdCMV-TRAIL in proper titre, and TRAIL gene was detected by means of RT-PCR.

Objective: To study the methods of decalcification for making united slices of tooth and affiliated periodontic tissues.
Methods: Twenty-one samples containing dog molars and affiliated periodontic tissues were divided into seven mean groups. The pH value of solution, time of decalcification, weight and volume of samples, and content of decalcified calcium were detected.
