To maximize efficiency, a third boost injection of the high-dose SARS-CoV-2 inactivated vaccine KCONVAC was selected for investigation. In addition to the ancestral strain, KCONVAC boost vaccination induced neutralizing antibodies and antigen-specific CD8 T cells to recognize several variants, including B.

Based on one month's fasting blood glucose survey, we identified seven spontaneous T2DM macaques and five impaired glucose regulation (IGR) macaques from 1408 captive individuals. FPG, HbA1c, FPI and IR values were significant higher in T2DM and IGR than in controls.

However, past research has failed to describe microbial growth and metabolism reasonably, especially quantification of reaction equations and operating parameters is still not clear. The present study investigated the ability of bacteria extracted from Ansai Oilfield for MEOR.

Reviewing literature revealed that the studies on the bearing characteristics of pile foundations mainly focuses on clay, ordinary sand, loess, saline soil, and other areas. However, few studies on the bearing characteristics of the pile foundation in calcareous sand were conducted. Besides, existing traditional studies ignored the variation of soil compression modulus with depth, and the effect of void ratio on the transverse bearing characteristics of the pile foundation in a calcareous sand area were not well understood.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are highly susceptible to lipid peroxidation because of their unstable double bonds. Because the cell membrane is particularly rich in PUFAs, it is often the site at which many lipid peroxidation chain reactions occur.

A total of 432-day-old healthy AA broiler chickens were assigned to 4 treatments, with 12 replicates per treatment and 9 birds per cage, for 42 d. The dietary treatments were a basal diet (control) and the basal diet supplemented with a TB product (Eucalorie) at doses of 0.

RNAi technology, known as a revolutionary technology in the history of pesticides, has been identified as a very promising novel approach for crop protection, which is of great significance for achieving the sustainable agricultural development of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Although many studies have shown that RNA biopesticides have strong application prospects, its stability seriously restricts the commercial use. As the core component of RNAi, double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) is unstable in its natural form.

Recent studies proved that crossing nerve transfer surgery could rebuild physiological connectivity between the contralesional cortex and the paralyzed arm to compensate for the lost function after brain injury. However, the neural mechanism by which this surgery mediates motor recovery remains still unclear.

Trehalose is the main blood sugar in insects and plays an important role in energy metabolism and stress resistance. The transmembrane transport of trehalose mainly depends on the trehalose transporter (TRET1).

From June to December 2021, a total of 120 patients undergoing elective head and neck surgery under general anesthesia in Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University were enrolled. Each participant was randomly received vitamin A eye gel (vitamin A eye, =60) or erythromycin eye ointment (erythromycin eye, =60), followed by 3M transparent tape on one eye, and taping 3M transparent tape alone for the other eye.

Recent studies uncovered its molecular function, but its physiological function in the systemic Fe response is not fully understood. To explore the physiological function of FEP1 in iron homoeostasis, we performed a transcriptome analysis using the FEP1 loss-of-function mutant fep1-1 and a transgenic line with oestrogen-inducible expression of FEP1.

Purpose: Previous studies highlighted an increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) among patients with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR); however, the risk for those with ACL tear but without undergoing ACLR has not been reported yet. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk of VTE among ACL tear individuals with or without ACLR derived from the general population.
Methods: A cohort study was conducted using data from the IQVIA Medical Research Database of the United Kingdom.
Background: We aimed to: (1) perform a nationwide trend analysis of staggered and simultaneous bilateral knee arthroplasty (KA); (2) investigate patient demographics and hospital characteristics in two groups; and (3) compare the outcomes of two groups with a focus on complications, length of stay (LOS) and hospitalization costs.
Methods: Utilizing the Hospital Quality Monitoring System, we included patients who underwent bilateral KA during a single hospitalization between 2013 and 2019. Patient demographics and hospital characteristics were compared between two groups.
Background: Nursing performance is closely related to the success of hospital and patient outcome. Recently, the proportion of male nurses has gradually increased. However, we do not know how these male nurses perform in clinical work.

To study the effect of ultrasonic-guided serratus plane block combined with pectoral nerve block Ⅰ on postoperative analgesia after radical mastectomy. A total of 30 patients, all female, aged [ ()] 53 (43, 62) years old, who underwent radical mastectomy in Beijing Tongren Hospital from May to August 2021 were selected. The patients were divided into two groups (=15 in each group) using a random number table: general anesthesia alone+patient controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) group (control group) and serratus plane block combined with pectoral nerve block Ⅰ before general anesthesia+PCIA group (combined group).

Due to their maximized atomic utilization and unique electronic and chemical properties, SACs can provide high activity and excellent selectivity for gas adsorption and electron transport, leveraging SACs that enhance the detection sensitivity and selectivity to target gases. In the past few years, SACs including both noble (Pt, Pd, Au, ) and non-noble (Mn, Ni, Zn ) metals have been demonstrated to be very useful in optimizing sensing performances.

Natural coastlines are being destroyed, and increasingly serious problems, such as coastal erosion and ecological fragility, have become disasters in coastal zones. The coastal vulnerability changed by climatic variables has created a major concern at regional, national and global scales.

Background: Several studies have examined gut microbiota and sarcopenia using 16S ribosomal RNA amplicon sequencing; however, this technique may not be able to identify altered specific species and functional capacities of the microbes. We performed shotgun metagenomic sequencing to compare the gut microbiome composition and function between individuals with and without sarcopenia.

This research was aimed at exploring the changes in right ventricular function in patients after the recovery of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) under echocardiography and providing a reference for the rehabilitation and treatment of COVID-19 patients. Three echocardiographic follow-up examinations were performed on 40 recovered COVID-19 patients and 40 healthy people. Right ventricular function between patients after COVID-19 rehabilitation and healthy people was compared.
