Spontaneous type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) macaques are valuable resources for our understanding the pathological mechanism of T2DM. Based on one month's fasting blood glucose survey, we identified seven spontaneous T2DM macaques and five impaired glucose regulation (IGR) macaques from 1408 captive individuals. FPG, HbA1c, FPI and IR values were significant higher in T2DM and IGR than in controls.

Due to their maximized atomic utilization and unique electronic and chemical properties, SACs can provide high activity and excellent selectivity for gas adsorption and electron transport, leveraging SACs that enhance the detection sensitivity and selectivity to target gases. The aim of this study is to compare the COVID-19 nasopharyngeal PCR (NP PCR) to antigen, nasal PCR, and viral culture. One-hundred-and-fourteen risk-stratified patients were tested by culture, nasal PCR, NP PCR, and Ag testing. Twenty (48%) of the high risk and 23 (32%) of the low risk were NP PCR positive.

Background: Several studies have examined gut microbiota and sarcopenia using 16S ribosomal RNA amplicon sequencing; however, this technique may not be able to identify altered specific species and functional capacities of the microbes. We performed shotgun metagenomic sequencing to compare the gut microbiome composition and function between individuals with and without sarcopenia.
