Objectives: This paper models cognitive aging, across mid and late life, and estimates birth cohort and sex differences in both initial levels and aging trajectories over time in a sample with multiple cohorts and a wide span of ages.

Methods: The data used in this study came from the first 9 waves of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing, spanning 2002-2019. There were n = 76,014 observations (proportion male 45%).

Firefighters have one of the most stressful, physically demanding jobs to perform across the emergency services field and often suffer from job-related health conditions. A firefighter from California contacted our Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital cardiac rehabilitation program with the hope of returning to work after myocardial infarction, placement of stents, and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator implantation. He underwent high-intensity performance testing (HIPT) developed for firefighters seeking to return to duty after cardiac events.

Over the years, autologous skin grafting has been used extensively to achieve wound closure, optimize a functional scar, and improve aesthetic outcomes for the patient. Although a vast majority of the literature is on the use of full-thickness and split-thickness skin grafts, epidermal skin grafts (ESGs) have emerged as a viable option in the reconstructive ladder when only the epidermal layer is needed. These grafts are distinct from other types of autologous skin grafts in that they can be harvested without anesthesia and leave minimal or no scarring at the donor site.
