We report the synthesis of three radical-cation salts of BEDT-TTF from racemic tris(oxalato)ferrate by electrocrystallization in the presence of chiral molecules. In the presence of enantiopure l-(+)-tartaric acid, we observe spontaneous resolution of the labile tris(oxalato)ferrate anion to produce the chiral radical-cation salt α-(BEDT-TTF)[Δ-Fe(CO)].[l-(+)-tartaric acid] which contains only the Δ enantiomer of Fe(CO).

Abstract: The effects of post-hydration heating over a broad range of temperatures are evident in many Mighei-like carbonaceous (CM) chondrites as a variety of mineral transitions. To better understand these processes and how a CM chondrite's starting composition may have affected them, we experimentally heated two meteorites with different degrees of aqueous alteration, Allan Hills 83100 and Murchison, at 25 °C temperature steps from 200 °C to 950 °C and 300 °C to 750 °C, respectively. Introduction: There remains a high unmet need for disease-modifying therapies that can impact disability progression in secondary progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). Following positive results of the phase 2 MS-STAT study, the MS-STAT2 phase 3 trial will evaluate the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of repurposed high-dose simvastatin in slowing the progression of disability in SPMS.

Iodinated contrast is commonly used for radiological procedures, with one dose delivering several hundred-fold the daily requirements needed for normal thyroid hormone production. Risks of excess iodine include incident thyroid dysfunction, which is associated with adverse cardiac outcomes, yet there are no prospective studies investigating the changes in cardiac physiology following iodine contrast administration. Background: In the early 2020s, nearly half of New Zealand adults reported that cost of treatment had prevented them from accessing dental care, with higher rates among Māori, Pasifika and individuals living in the most deprived areas. Unaffordable dental care may be explained by a rise in dental service fees over time relative to personal income, as documented in New Zealand between 1978 and 1993.
