Background: Approximately half of patients with localised, high-risk soft tissue sarcoma of the extremity develop metastases. We aimed to assess whether the addition of pembrolizumab to preoperative radiotherapy and surgery would improve disease-free survival.
Methods: We completed an open-label, randomised clinical trial in patients with grade 2 or 3, stage III undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma or dedifferentiated or pleomorphic liposarcoma of the extremity and limb girdle.
Prostate cancer is the most common malignancy diagnosed in men. PI-RADS 3 lesions on multiparametric MRI, when histologically proven malignant, overwhelmingly represent prostatic adenocarcinoma. Primary lymphoma of the prostate, especially follicular lymphoma, is exceedingly rare.

We evaluated the clinical benefit of selinexor in patients with previously treated DD-LPS whose sarcoma progressed on approved agents.
Methods: SEAL was a phase II-III, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study.
Objectives: Increasing use of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) is likely to impact outcomes for HPV+ oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCCs). We aimed to describe oncologic outcomes for a large HPV+ OPSCC cohort after TORS and develop a risk prediction model for recurrence under this treatment paradigm.
Materials And Methods: 634 HPV+ OPSCC patients receiving TORS-based therapy at a single institution were reviewed retrospectively to describe survival across the entire cohort and for patients suffering recurrence.
Background: Due to inherent impact on quality of life, metastatic head and neck cancer patients are well-suited to benefit from palliative care (PC). Our objective was to examine factors that shape PC utilization and implications for overall survival in stage IVc head and neck cancer patients.
Methods: A retrospective study of patients with stage IVc head and neck cancer in the National Cancer Database from 2004 and 2015 was conducted.
Purpose: Practice patterns for treatment of localized adult pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma (PRMS) remain quite variable given its rarity. Current national guidelines recommend management similar to that of other high-grade soft tissue sarcomas (STS), which include surgery with perioperative radiation (RT) with or without chemotherapy. Using the National Cancer Database (NCDB), we assessed practice patterns and overall outcomes of patients with localized PRMS.

We hypothesize that stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is an effective, safe alternative to surgery that can achieve excellent local control (LC) with a favorable toxicity profile.
Methods: Patients treated with SBRT for sarcoma PM's from 2011 to 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania were included.
Background: This single-arm, multicenter, phase 2 study evaluated the safety and antitumor activity of pazopanib in patients with unresectable or metastatic conventional chondrosarcoma.
Methods: Eligible patients had conventional chondrosarcoma of any grade with measurable tumors that were unresectable or metastatic. Patients with mesenchymal, dedifferentiated, and extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma subtypes and patients who received prior tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy were excluded.
Background: Leiomyosarcoma is a rare neoplasm of the head and neck. The purpose of this study was to present our single-institution case series of head and neck leiomyosarcoma and a review of cases in the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB).
Methods: Patients with head and neck leiomyosarcoma at the University of Pennsylvania and in the NCDB were identified.
The use of chemotherapy, including immunotherapy, in oral squamous cell carcinoma has expanded considerably in the past several years. Its use mirrors that in the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma affecting other structures in the head and neck. This article summarizes the current evidence that guides use of chemotherapy both in combination with radiation and as monotherapy for patients with advanced disease.

We hypothesize that stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) can be an alternative to surgery that can achieve high rates of local control (LC) with limited toxicity.
Methods: Thirty consecutive sarcoma patients received SBRT to 39 PM's from 2011 to 2015 at two university hospitals to a median dose of 50 Gy in 4-5 fractions with CyberKnife or linear accelerator.
Preventing chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia could avoid chemotherapy dose reductions and delays. The safety and maximum tolerated dose of eltrombopag, an oral thrombopoietin receptor agonist, with gemcitabine-based therapy was evaluated. Patients with advanced solid tumors and platelets ≤300 × 10(9) /L receiving gemcitabine plus cisplatin or carboplatin (Group A) or gemcitabine monotherapy (Group B) were randomized 3:1 to receive eltrombopag or placebo at a starting dose of 100 mg daily administered on days -5 to -1 and days 2-6 starting from cycle 2 of treatment.

Regardless of whether or not vitamin D deficiency increases the risk of cancer and decreases survival of cancer, the established adverse impact of its deficiency on bone health is of particular concern for cancer patients. The extent of vitamin D deficiency is not well defined in the oncology setting, and there are no standardized protocols for screening and supplementation for individuals found to be deficient in vitamin D.

Methods: A literature review was performed using Medline and PubMed databases to search for cases of all primary and secondary myelogenous tumors of the larynx.
Objectives: Rhabdomyosarcoma is an exceedingly rare tumor in adults, and standard chemotherapy used for children is much less effective in adults. This study examines short-term outcomes using doxorubicin, ifosfamide, and vincristine for adult rhabdomyosarcoma.
Methods: Pathology records were searched for adults (age, >18) with rhabdomyosarcoma treated at our musculoskeletal tumor center.
