Remote sensing of mercury sodium exospheric patterns in relation to particle precipitation and interplanetary magnetic field.

The ground-based solar telescope THEMIS performed several observations of Mercury's sodium exosphere in years 2011-2013, when the MESSENGER spacecraft was orbiting around the planet. Typical two-peak exospheric patterns were frequently identified. In previous studies, some specific cases of THEMIS Na two-peak observations were characterized and related to IMF conditions, during specific extreme cases, in the occasion of CME arrival.

Clinical outcomes of hypomethylating agents and venetoclax in newly diagnosed unfit and relapsed/refractory paediatric, adolescent and young adult acute myeloid leukaemia patients.

Venetoclax (VEN) combined with hypomethylating agents (HMA) decitabine or azacitidine is used for adult acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its application in paediatric, adolescent and young adult (AYA) AML lacks prospective studies. We performed a retrospective chart review of paediatric and AYA AML patients treated with HMA + VEN at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre. Twenty-seven patients received 30 HMA + VEN treatment courses for relapsed/refractory (R/R, n = 21) or newly diagnosed (n = 9) AML due to ineligibility for intensive chemotherapy.

A carbon nanotube based ion source for planetary space mass spectrometry.

Ion sources are used in mass and energy spectrometry to ionize the neutral particles entering the instrument. The most classical technique used in planetary exploration is hot filaments emitting electrons with few tens of eV and impacting the neutral particles. The main limitations of such emitters are power consumption and outgassing due to heating of their local environment.

The impact of COVID-19 on chronic pain.

A reduced quality of life is often a hefty burden that those with chronic pain are left to bear. This review of literature from PubMed, Google Scholar and other relevant studies focuses on the complex relationship between COVID-19 and chronic pain, which is challenging to study during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this review, we will briefly discuss the epidemiologic facts and risk factors, followed by the proposed pathophysiologic mechanisms.

[Mapping in 3D with MapIt: an added value for a professionalization path from the student perspective].

During the pandemic, the MapIt app was integrated into an occupational therapy program to support remote learning of built environment adaptation. MapIt maps rooms in a home, then generates a 3D model for viewing and taking virtual measurements. The students express that the use of MapIt during their training leads to embodying the roles expected of an occupational therapist.

Major cell-types in multiomic single-nucleus datasets impact statistical modeling of links between regulatory sequences and target genes.

Epigenomic profiling, including ATACseq, is one of the main tools used to define enhancers. Because enhancers are overwhelmingly cell-type specific, inference of their activity is greatly limited in complex tissues. Multiomic assays that probe in the same nucleus both the open chromatin landscape and gene expression levels enable the study of correlations (links) between these two modalities.

Breech presentation induction compared to cephalic presentation: Effectiveness and characteristics.

Introduction: The objective of our study was to compare the effectiveness of induction in cephalic presentations to that of breech presentations as well as the characteristics of the latter and the maternal-fetal morbidity and mortality.

Material And Methods: This was a single-center retrospective study carried out at the Lille University Hospital in the Jeanne de Flandre Maternity Hospital including all patients with a breech fetus for whom an induction was indicated beyond 37 weeks of gestation between January 2014 and December 2020. A matching was performed to include 2 cephalic presentations for one breech presentation.

Provision of Compassionate and Empathic Care as a Well-Being Preservation Tool for Emergency Physicians: A Scoping Review.

Objective: Compassion and physician well-being are two key components related to quality care in health including emergency medicine. The objective of this study was to explore the impact of compassion in care on the well-being of emergency physicians. We conducted a scoping review to explore the impact of provision of compassionate care by emergency physicians on their well-being and subconcepts.

Inner southern magnetosphere observation of Mercury via SERENA ion sensors in BepiColombo mission.

Mercury's southern inner magnetosphere is an unexplored region as it was not observed by earlier space missions. In October 2021, BepiColombo mission has passed through this region during its first Mercury flyby. Here, we describe the observations of SERENA ion sensors nearby and inside Mercury's magnetosphere.

Combined epigenetic and immunotherapy for blastic and classical mantle cell lymphoma.

Classical MCL (cMCL) constitutes 6-8% of all B cell NHL. Despite recent advances, MCL is incurable except with allogeneic stem cell transplant. Blastic mantle cell lymphoma (bMCL) is a rarer subtype of cMCL associated with an aggressive clinical course and poor treatment response, frequent relapse and poor outcomes.

Prognostic factors for successful induction of labor in intrauterine growth restriction after 36 weeks of gestation.

Objective: In comparison to eutrophic fetuses, intra uterine growth restriction fetuses (IUGR) have a higher risk of perinatal morbi-mortality. There are no guidelines on the labor induction of labor (IOL) method to be performed in IUGR. The main objective was to determine fetal and maternal predictive factors of successful induction in IUGR fetuses from 36 weeks.

Mars' plasma system. Scientific potential of coordinated multipoint missions: "The next generation".

The objective of this White Paper, submitted to ESA's Voyage 2050 call, is to get a more holistic knowledge of the dynamics of the Martian plasma system, from its surface up to the undisturbed solar wind outside of the induced magnetosphere. This can only be achieved with coordinated multi-point observations with high temporal resolution as they have the scientific potential to track the whole dynamics of the system (from small to large scales), and they constitute the next generation of the exploration of Mars analogous to what happened at Earth a few decades ago. This White Paper discusses the key science questions that are still open at Mars and how they could be addressed with coordinated multipoint missions.

Volatiles and Refractories in Surface-Bounded Exospheres in the Inner Solar System.

Volatiles and refractories represent the two end-members in the volatility range of species in any surface-bounded exosphere. Volatiles include elements that do not interact strongly with the surface, such as neon (detected on the Moon) and helium (detected both on the Moon and at Mercury), but also argon, a noble gas (detected on the Moon) that surprisingly adsorbs at the cold lunar nighttime surface. Refractories include species such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and aluminum, all of which have very strong bonds with the lunar surface and thus need energetic processes to be ejected into the exosphere.

Distribution and Pathogenicity of Two Cutthroat Trout Virus (CTV) Genotypes in Canada.

The sole member of the genus (family ) is cutthroat trout virus (CTV) but recent metatranscriptomic studies have identified numerous fish hepevirus sequences including CTV-2. In the current study, viruses with sequences resembling both CTV and CTV-2 were isolated from salmonids in eastern and western Canada. Phylogenetic analysis of eight full genomes delineated the Canadian CTV isolates into two genotypes (CTV-1 and CTV-2) within the genus.

A mixed-effect model approach for assessing land-based mitigation in integrated assessment models: A regional perspective.

Given the prospects of low short-term emissions reduction, carbon removals (CDRs) are expected to play an important role in achieving ambitious mitigation targets in future scenarios of integrated assessment models (IAMs), particularly Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS). In this paper, we explore the IAMC 1.5℃ database to depict the characteristics of the two main CDR options present in mitigation scenarios: BECCS and afforestation/reforestation.

SERENA: Particle Instrument Suite for Determining the Sun-Mercury Interaction from BepiColombo.

The ESA-JAXA BepiColombo mission to Mercury will provide simultaneous measurements from two spacecraft, offering an unprecedented opportunity to investigate magnetospheric and exospheric particle dynamics at Mercury as well as their interactions with solar wind, solar radiation, and interplanetary dust. The particle instrument suite SERENA (Search for Exospheric Refilling and Emitted Natural Abundances) is flying in space on-board the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and is the only instrument for ion and neutral particle detection aboard the MPO. It comprises four independent sensors: ELENA for neutral particle flow detection, Strofio for neutral gas detection, PICAM for planetary ions observations, and MIPA, mostly for solar wind ion measurements.

Pediatric Patient With Ulcerative Colitis-Associated Bronchiectasis.

We report a unique case of ulcerative colitis-associated bronchiectasis in a pediatric patient 6 years after colectomy. The patient presented with a chronic cough and had a computed tomography demonstrating bronchiectasis. She was treated with sputum expectoration (airway clearance) via chest physiotherapy and pulse-dose steroids with a prolonged oral taper.

Sphingolipid metabolism is increasingly recognised as a therapeutic target in cancer due to its regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. The sphingolipid rheostat is proposed to control cell fate through maintaining balance between pro-apoptotic and pro-survival sphingolipids. This balance is regulated by metabolising enzymes involved in sphingolipid production.

Changes over time in attitudes towards the management of older patients with heart failure by general practitioners: a qualitative study.

Background: Underdiagnosis and undertreatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) are common in older patients, who are usually treated by general practitioners (GPs). In 2007, the French ICAGE study explored GPs' attitudes to the management of this condition in older patients.

Objectives: To explore changes over time in GPs' attitudes towards the management of CHF in patients aged ≥75 and to identify barriers to optimal management.

Integrative analysis of vascular endothelial cell genomic features identifies AIDA as a coronary artery disease candidate gene.

Background: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified hundreds of loci associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) and blood pressure (BP) or hypertension. Many of these loci are not linked to traditional risk factors, nor do they include obvious candidate genes, complicating their functional characterization. We hypothesize that many GWAS loci associated with vascular diseases modulate endothelial functions.
