The present study aimed to determine the relationship between circulating progesterone (P4) concentrations and milk yield during the ovulatory follicular wave on the proportion of multiple ovulation (MOV) in multiparous high-producing Holstein cows (n = 1,345). The study used first-service multiparous cows submitted to a Double-Ovsynch program (GnRH; 7 d later, PGF; 3 d later, GnRH; 7 d later, GnRH [G1]; 7 d later, PGF [PG1]; 1 d later, PGF; ∼32 h later, GnRH [G2]; ∼16 h later, timed AI [TAI]). To assess ovulatory response and proportion of MOV, ovarian ultrasonography examinations were performed at G1 (n = 1,215) and G2 (n = 1,345) and from 40 to 48 h after each GnRH.

We investigated the effect of an additional GnRH 2 d after initiation of resynchronization on d 25 post-AI on the proportion of cows without a corpus luteum (CL) at nonpregnancy diagnosis (NPD) and pregnancy per AI (P/AI) of cows with a CL at NPD that were reinseminated. Once per week, cows that were inseminated 25 d earlier were randomly assigned to receive either a GnRH treatment only (G25) or GnRH on this day and 2 d later (G25&27). Pregnancy diagnosis and CL presence were determined d 32 post-AI using ultrasonography.

Background: Mesenchymal stem cell infusion and vitamin D supplementation may have immunomodulatory actions that could prolong the preservation of residual insulin secretion in patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Intervention with these agents after onset of T1D could favor the development of a remission phase, with potential clinical impact. We aimed to compare the presence of clinical remission (CR), glycemic control and daily insulin requirement at 6, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months after the diagnosis of T1D using IDAA1c in patients who received therapy with adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cell (ASC) infusion and vitamin D supplementation and a control group.

The participation of well-informed patients in their care and shared decision making are essential, especially in chronic aggressive and debilitating pathologies such as recurrent or metastatic (R/M) Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC).
Aims: This study aimed to characterize R/M HNSCC patients' and caregivers' information needs identified by healthcare professionals (HCPs).
Our objective was to determine the effect of a 200-µg dose of GnRH 25 d after previous artificial insemination (AI) in a Resynch-25 resynchronization program on ovulatory response, circulating progesterone (P4) concentrations before and after treatment, and pregnancy per AI (P/AI) compared with a 100-µg dose in lactating Holstein cows. Experimental d 0 was considered the day of the previous AI. Lactating dairy cows (n = 3,240) with an average of 126 d in milk (DIM) and between 1 and 6 services were randomly assigned to receive 100 µg or 200 µg of GnRH on d 25 (GnRH25).

Methods: Ninety-three women with early-stage BC were randomly allocated to a SETP plus usual care (exercise, n = 47) or usual care alone (UC, n = 46). The SETP included three sessions per week, combining aerobic and resistance training, conducted concurrently over the chemotherapy.
To assess the effects of a group class physical exercise program on health-related quality of life (HRQOL), physical fitness and activity, and safety in early breast cancer women after treatment, a double-phase trial [16-week control phase (CP) followed by a 16-week intervention phase (IP)] was designed. Outcomes were evaluated at baseline (T1), 8 (T2) and 16 (T3) weeks (CP), and 24 (T4) and 32 (T5) weeks (IP). The primary endpoint was global health status.

Weekly cohorts of primiparous (n = 719) and multiparous (n = 1,191) cows submitted to DO (GnRH, 7 d later PGF, 3 d later GnRH, 7 d later GnRH [G1], 7 d later PGF [PG1], 1 d later PGF, ∼32 h later GnRH [G2], and ∼16 h later timed artificial insemination [TAI]) for first service, randomly received either 100 μg or 200 μg of GnRH (gonadorelin hydrochloride) at G1 (primiparous, 64-75 DIM; multiparous, 59-70 DIM). Ovulation was determined by ultrasound 2 d after G1 (n = 1,294) and 2 d after G2 (n = 1,020).

To overcome this problem, we targeted a controlled experimental system comprising a semicommercial membrane-aerated bioreactor (MABR), whose effluents fed a 4,500-L polypropylene basin that mimicked effluent stabilization reservoirs and receiving aquatic ecosystems. We analyzed a large set of physicochemical measurements, concomitant with the cultivation of total and cefotaxime-resistant Escherichia coli, microbial community analyses, and quantitative PCR (qPCR)/digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) quantification of selected ARGs and mobile genetic elements (MGEs).

The phylum Pseudomonadota is amongst the most represented in the environment, with a comparatively lower prevalence in the human oral cavity. The ubiquity of Pseudomonadota and the fact that the oral cavity is the most likely entry portal of bacteria from external sources underlie the need to better understand its occurrence in the interface environment-humans. Yet, the relevance oral Pseudomonadota is largely underexplored in the scientific literature, a gap that this review aims at addressing by making, for the first time, an overview of the diversity and ecology of Pseudomonadota in the oral cavity.

The relapse rate is high after platinum-based therapy, with the effectiveness of subsequent treatment lines decreasing over time. Recent data suggest the benefit of maintenance therapy with niraparib in platinum-sensitive recurrent disease.

Summary: Evidence is lacking on the use of surface prereacted glass-ionomer filler resin composites to inhibit demineralization and that simulate real clinical conditions. The present laboratory study evaluated the potential of such composites to prevent demineralization and quantified fluoride (F) and other ions released from restorative materials after a dynamic pH-cycling regimen applied to the tooth material interface in vitro.
