This study investigates whether the context in which a word is learnt affects noun and verb learning. There is mixed evidence in studies of noun learning, and no studies of background perceptual context in verb learning. Two-, three-, and four-year-olds (n = 162) saw a novel object moved in a novel way while hearing four novel words, either nouns or verbs.

Learning verbs is an important part of learning one's native language. Prior studies have shown that children younger than 5 years can have difficulty in learning and extending new verbs. The current study extended these studies by showing children multiple events that can be compared during learning, including Japanese- and English-speaking children.

Objective: We aimed to validate whether pathologic response (pR) to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) using a three-tier chemotherapy response score (CRS) is associated with clinical outcome in ovarian cancer (OC) and could be used as surrogate marker for survival.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of OC patients with FIGO stage III/IV disease who received NACT and graded response as no or minimal (CRS 1), partial (CRS 2), or complete/near-complete (CRS 3) pR using tissue specimens obtained from omentum. Uni- and multivariate survival analyses were performed accounting for age, FIGO stage, debulking and BRCA status as well as neoadjuvant use of bevacizumab.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of a community health worker-supported hereditary cancer risk-assessment and genetic testing program in a safety-net hospital serving more than 70% medically underserved patients.

Methods: This community health worker pilot program began in January 2020 at women's health clinics by administering original National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN)-based questionnaires. Patients meeting high-risk criteria were offered video-based genetic education and testing, notified of results using telehealth, and offered indicated counseling.

Squamous cell carcinoma of the ovary (SCC) is a rare and aggressive disease and optimal treatment is unknown. Here we report the case of a 29- year-old woman who presented with abdominal pain and was ultimately found to have a multi-septate, gas containing pelvic mass with mixed fat, soft tissue, and calcified components concerning for a ruptured teratoma with fistulization to the distal ileum and cecum on imaging. Operative findings included a 20 cm pelvic mass arising from the right ovary with frank invasion into the ileum and cecum and dense adhesion to the anterior abdominal wall on surgical exploration.

Objective: As healthcare expenditures continue to rise, identifying mechanisms to reduce unnecessary costs is critical. The objective of this study is to estimate the annual cost of wasted indocyanine green (ICG) used for sentinel lymph node mapping in patients with endometrial cancer.

Methods: Using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program database and Premier database, we determined the annual number of cases in which sentinel lymph node mapping with ICG would be used and the median cost of ICG to institutions and patients, respectively.

Background: Adoptive cell therapy with chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T) has become a standard treatment for patients with certain aggressive B cell malignancies and holds promise to improve the care of patients suffering from numerous other cancers in the future. However, the high manufacturing cost of CAR-T cell therapies poses a major barrier to their broader clinical application. Among the key cost drivers of CAR-T production are single-use reagents for T cell activation and clinical-grade viral vector.
