Clinically available targeted breast cancer therapy is largely ineffective in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), characterized by tumors that lack expression of the estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (Her2). In the present study, we focused on [TBP]/[Au(III)] ratios of 1-5 (≈1 mM HAuCl4) and seed sizes ~20 nm. Under these conditions, the GNP growth rate is dominated by both the TBP and seed concentrations.
