In the present investigation, redox-responsive-based dextran carriers were developed for the controlled release of hydrophobic molecules via a reducing agent naturally present in cells, namely glutathione. In this sense, dextran was modified with a thiol derivative. The roles of the hydrophilic segments in the molecular self-organisation of polysaccharide derivatives into nanoparticles were investigated by varying the average dextran molar mass.

In humans, toxoplasmosis causes infections in both immunodeficient and immunocompetent patients, congenital toxoplasmosis, and ocular lesions. These manifestations have different degrees of severity.

However, data comparing mesh-assisted prepectoral reconstruction with implants alone are lacking. This study aimed to assess whether synthetic meshes in prepectoral reconstruction impact postoperative complications.

Many studies have documented infection in companion animals by molecular and serological methods. However, only a few have compared seroprevalence in cats and dogs from the general population, and these studies were limited by small sample sizes and collections over short periods.

However, wild animals may also be rabies vectors. In most cases, contact with a rabid animal results in rabies without pre- or post-exposure prophylaxis, and the disease is nearly always fatal.

However, HBV origins remain poorly understood. Here, we looked for bat HBV (BtHBV) in different bat species in Gabon to investigate the role of these animals as carriers of ancestral hepadnaviruses because these viruses are much more diverse in bats than in other host species.

However, compared with magnetite, which was extensively studied, the mineralization process and mechanisms of siderite remain unclear. Here, with the combination of advanced electron microscopy and synchrotron-based scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM) approaches, we studied in detail the morphological, structural, and chemical features of biogenic siderite via a growth experiment with MR-4.

Indeed, the lack of origin of replication has no deleterious effect on growth, suggesting that replication initiation relies on homologous recombination. Recombination-dependent replication (RDR) appears to be based on the recombinase RadA, which is of absolute requirement when no initiation origins are detected.

Purpose: Review the role of the quality manager 15 years after ASN Decision 2008-DC-103 and 10 years after the creation of the Association française de la qualité et sécurité en radiothérapie (AFQSR), taking into account the new regulatory framework introduced by ASN Decisions 2021-DC-708 and 2019-DC-660.
Materials And Methods: a survey was drawn up and distributed to members of the French association for quality and safety in radiotherapy.
Results: The role of the quality manager in radiotherapy is one of the pillars of the quality/safety approach introduced by ASN Decision 2008-DC-103.
Antibiotic resistance ABC-Fs (ARE ABC-Fs) are translation factors that provide resistance against clinically important ribosome-targeting antibiotics which are proliferating among pathogens. Here, we combine genetic and structural approaches to determine the regulation of streptococcal ARE ABC-F gene msrD in response to macrolide exposure. We show that binding of cladinose-containing macrolides to the ribosome prompts insertion of the leader peptide MsrDL into a crevice of the ribosomal exit tunnel, which is conserved throughout bacteria and eukaryotes.

We have shown previously that different orientations of the transmembrane (TM) helices within a receptor dimer can lead to different signaling outputs. Here we addressed the structural basis of activation for receptor mutations S505N and W515K that induce myeloproliferative neoplasms.

In this regard, natural products that target the bacterial ribosome have the potential to be developed into potent drugs through structure-guided design, provided their mechanisms of action are well understood. Here we use inverse toeprinting coupled to next-generation sequencing to show that the aromatic polyketide tetracenomycin X primarily inhibits peptide bond formation between an incoming aminoacyl-tRNA and a terminal Gln-Lys (QK) motif in the nascent polypeptide.

Here we present an alternative approach that uses on-chip photoconductive switches together with a light projection system to individually address high-voltage actuators. Each actuator is connected to one or more switches that are nominally OFF unless turned ON using direct light illumination.

Following the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, cases of pets infected with variants circulating among humans were reported. In order to evaluate the occurrence of SARS-CoV-2 circulation among pets in the Republic of the Congo, we conducted a ten-month study of dogs and cats living in COVID-19-positive households in Brazzaville and neighboring localities. Real-time PCR and the Luminex platform were used to detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA and antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 RBD and S proteins, respectively.
