Methods: 94 men were included: 18 lowlanders (LL), 38 healthy highlanders permanently living at 3800 m (n = 21-HL-3800) or in La Rinconada, the highest city in the world (5100-5300 m) (n = 17-HL-5100/No CMS). Moreover, 14 participants with mild (Mild CMS) and 24 with moderate to severe CMS (Mod/Sev CMS) were recruited.
Slow brain rhythms, for example during slow-wave sleep or pathological conditions like seizures and spreading depolarization, can be accompanied by oscillations in extracellular potassium concentration. Such slow brain rhythms typically have a lower frequency than tonic action-potential firing. Methods: Uncoated polyethylene terephthalate mesh and synthetic composite mesh-faced on the visceral side with a chemically engineered layer of copolymer of glycolide, caprolactone, trimethylene carbonate, and lactide to minimize tissue attachment-were placed intraperitoneally in rats, facing the caecum previously scraped to promote petechial bleeding and subsequent adhesions. Meshes fate follow-up was performed 4, 10, and 16-weeks post-implantation using a rodent dedicated high field MRI.

In recent years, the use of quantum dots (Qdots) to obtain biological images has attracted attention due to their excellent luminescent properties and the possibility of their association with contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In this study, Gd/ZnO (ZnOGd) were conjugated with Qdots composed of a gadolinium-copper-indium-sulphur core covered with a ZnS shell (GCIS/ZnS Qdots).
