Thimerosal (THI) is an organic mercury compound that is widely used in drugs, vaccines and antibacterial products. Its extensive production and use have resulted in significant environmental contamination, posing a considerable threat to aquatic life. However, the knowledge of the toxicity of THI to aquatic organisms is still insufficient.

Mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) are one of the most studied groups of arthropods worldwide due to their high transmission capacity for pathogens, including viruses and parasites. During June to October 2022, the prevalence of mosquito species in 12 intensive pig farms from 12 representative administrative regions in Hunan province of China was investigated using traps with ultraviolet light. All collected mosquitoes were counted and identified to species according to morphological and molecular methods.

Methods: In this study, 82 samples were collected from 7 provinces of China.
Objective: To investigate voxel-based morphometry (VBM) by using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in meibomian gland dysfunction patients with severe obesity (PATs) and to explore the application of VBM in the early diagnosis, prevention of cognitive impairment and targeted treatment of this disease.
Methods: Sixteen PATs and 12 healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled and underwent MRI. Whole-head images were analyzed using VBM and data were compared between groups using an independent samples -test.
Two cardenolide glycosides, corotoxigenin 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside] (1) and coroglaucigenin 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-6-deoxy-β-D-glucopyranoside] (2), were isolated from the seed fairs of Asclepias curassavica. The structures of 1-2 were determined based on the combination of the analysis of their MS, NMR spectroscopic data and acid hydrolysis. The inhibitory effects of compounds 1 and 2 on human colorectal carcinoma cells (HCT116), non-small cell lung carcinoma cells (A549) and hepatic cancer cells (SMMC-7721) were evaluated.

A temperature-induced self-assembly strategy has been proposed for the syntheses of Prussian blue analogue (PBA)/CdS nanocomposites with beaded structure. The specially designed structure had evenly exposed CdS which can efficiently harvest visible light and inhibit photocorrosion; meanwhile, PBA with a large cavity provided channels for mass transfer and photocatalytic reaction centers.

Currently, the main treatments for CRC include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Despite advances in the diagnosis and treatment of CRC, the prognosis for CRC patients remains poor.

A series of COF-semiconductor Z-scheme photocatalysts combining water-oxidation semiconductors (TiO , Bi WO , and α-Fe O ) with CO reduction COFs (COF-316/318) was synthesized and exhibited high photocatalytic CO -to-CO conversion efficiencies (up to 69.67 μmol g h ), with H O as the electron donor in the gas-solid CO reduction, without additional photosensitizers and sacrificial agents.
