Background: Hyperglycemia is commonly seen in critically ill patients. This disorder was also seen in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients and was associated with a worse prognosis. The current study determined the prevalence, risk factors, and prognostic implications of hyperglycemia in COVID-19 patients.

Endovascular treatment of ruptured blister-like aneurysms: A case report and review of the literature.

A ruptured blister-like aneurysm of the internal carotid artery is a rare event with a high risk of recurrence and mortality. Selecting an appropriate treatment modality remains challenging due to a lack of consensus or specific recommendations in the literature. In this article, we present the case of a 68-year-old man who presented with ruptured blister-like aneurysms in the supraclinoid portion of the internal carotid artery.

Here, we investigated the metabolome of a MMS417 strain isolated from the blue mussel collected on the Loire estuary, France. Following the OSMAC approach with the use of 14 culture media, the effect of salinity and of a mussel-derived medium on the metabolic expression were analysed using HPLC-UV/DAD-HRMS/MS.

BACKGROUND Foreign bodies (FBs) in the intra- or extra-peritoneal cavity are relatively rare. The aim of treatment is to remove the FB to prevent chronic inflammation and/or infection. Traditionally, surgical management is necessary, as the detection and localization of FBs can be difficult.
