Nuclear medicine imaging (NMI) is essential for the diagnosis and sensing of various diseases; however, challenges persist regarding image quality and accessibility during NMI-based treatment. This paper reviews the use of deep learning methods for generating synthetic nuclear medicine images, aimed at improving the interpretability and utility of nuclear medicine protocols. We discuss advanced image generation algorithms designed to recover details from low-dose scans, uncover information hidden by specific radiopharmaceutical properties, and enhance the sensing of physiological processes.

Polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) measures the polarization state of backscattered light from tissues and provides valuable insights into the birefringence properties of biological tissues. Contrastive unpaired translation (CUT) was used in this study to generate a synthetic PS-OCT image from a single OCT image. Peptic ulcer perforations are common in surgical emergencies, whereas double perforations are rare, and triple peptic perforations are even exceedingly rare, with only a few cases documented. While undetected perforation during surgery can be fatal, the absence of standardized procedures for managing multiple perforations remains an ongoing challenge for surgeons. Herein, we describe a rare case of simultaneous triple peptic perforations in an elderly man with a prolonged history of analgesic and corticosteroid use.

Except in cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, the use of medical therapy before microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE) is controversial. In some studies, hormone therapy has been shown to improve the possibility of sperm retrieval during micro-TESE and even lead to the presence of sperm in the ejaculate in some cases, thereby obviating the need for micro-TESE. Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is a hereditary disorder characterized by an increased risk of developing multiple early-onset cancers, primarily due to germline mutations. Women and men with this mutation face lifetime cancer risks of 90% and 70%, respectively.
