Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a combination of immediate implant placement with maxillary sinus augmentation (MSA) solely using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on guided bone regeneration.
Materials And Methods: An interventional before-after (pre-post) study design was used with 30 dental patients (≥18 years of age; 14 males and 16 females) with initial bone heights ranging between 4 and 6 mm. Following the general check-up and the creation of a study model, the planned implant location demonstrated an external right maxilla diameter of more than 5 mm, thereby validating the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) radiograph.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the relationship between malocclusion and deleterious oral habits in the Vietnamese children aged 8-12 years.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive analysis was undertaken on a total of 434 children (8-12 years old, 208 males and 226 females), separated into five age groups: 8 years old (16.8%), 9 years old (18.
Background: Awake prone positioning (APP) may be beneficial in patients with respiratory failure who are not receiving mechanical ventilation. Randomized controlled trials of APP have been performed during peak COVID-19 periods in unvaccinated populations, with limited data on compliance or patient acceptability. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and acceptability of APP in a lower-middle income country in an open-label randomized controlled trial using a dedicated APP implementation team and wearable continuous-monitoring devices.

This Health Policy reviews the preparedness and response of public health laboratories in the WHO South-East Asia Region (SEAR) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through a scoping review and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, the study identifies successes, challenges, and lessons learned from available literature and the perspective of senior laboratory leaders. Key themes include human resources, health information systems, diagnostic capacity, public risk communication, biosafety, biosecurity, funding, and laboratory network coordination.

Cervical pessary is another option that has been evaluated with inconclusive results. There is, however, a lack of head-to-head comparisons between pessary and vaginal progesterone in this high risk population.

Generalized lymphangiomatosis (GLA) is a very rare condition in adults, characterized by diffused proliferation of lymphatic vessels that requires differential diagnosis from other vascular disorders such as cavernous or capillary hemangioma. This is because of overlapping characteristics on histopathological examination. Therefore, imaging features such as CT and MRI are useful to evaluate morphological characteristics, location, and the extent of the spread as well as differential diagnosis with other pathologies.

Aim: This article aims to report a case of face mask therapy and comprehensive orthodontic treatment for skeletal class III malocclusion in a 16-year-old girl.
Background: Treating skeletal class III malocclusion in a growing patient is crucial, as it can help avoid the need for additional surgery. Early treatment also lessens the negative impacts of the patient's facial abnormality on their social life because surgery is only done later.
Alterations in signaling pathways and modulation of cell metabolism are associated with the pathogenesis of cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) proteins and NF-κB family play major roles in various cellular processes. The current study aims to determine the expression profile of SUMO and NF-κB genes in HCC tumors and investigate their association with the clinical outcome of HCC.

However, changes in knee joint biomechanics as well as complications of the patellofemoral joint after surgery lead to instability, joint pain, patellar rupture, and patellar tendon rupture. These are issues that challenge surgeons as well as make patients hesitant when considering knee replacement surgery.

Aim: Our aim is to determine the applicability of other analyses and develop a new formula appropriate for the Vietnamese population.
Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive analysis was conducted on a total of 120 dental arch samples (18-25 years old, 60 males, and 60 females) with <5 mm of tooth crowding, complete teeth on the dental arch, no missing teeth, and no fillings on the mesial or distal sides. Each study sample will be imprinted and measured using conventional as well as digital methods.

Investigation of Lewis acid-base interactions has been conducted by ab initio calculations and machine learning (ML) models. This study aims to resolve two critical tasks that have not been quantitatively investigated. First, ML models developed from density functional theory (DFT) calculations predict experimental BF affinity with Pearson correlation coefficients around 0.

Cinnamon essential oil, derived from Cinnamomum cassia (CC), shows promise in preserving papaya due to its antifungal properties. However, CC is volatile, sensitive to environmental factors, and carries a strong aroma.

Background: Wearable devices have been used extensively both inside and outside of the hospital setting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, in some contexts, there was an increased need to remotely monitor pulse and saturated oxygen for patients due to the lack of staff and bedside monitors.
Objective: A prototype of a remote monitoring system using wearable pulse oximeter devices was implemented at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August to December 2021.
Laboratory-acquired infections (LAIs) and accidental pathogen escape from laboratory settings (APELS) are major concerns for the community. A risk-based approach for pathogen research management within a standard biosafety management framework is recommended but is challenging due to reasons such as inconsistency in risk tolerance and perception. Here, we performed a scoping review using publicly available, peer-reviewed journal and media reports of LAIs and instances of APELS between 2000 and 2021.
