We aimed to investigate the association between iodine intake and nodal metastasis stratified by central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) and lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC). Urinary iodine concentration (UIC) and clinicopathological characteristics were used to identify factors associated with CLNM and LLNM using logistic regression analysis. A sum of 3,858 PTMC patients were enrolled.

During cold exposure, activated brown adipose tissue (BAT) takes up a large amount of circulating glucose to fuel non-shivering thermogenesis and defend against hypothermia. However, little is known about the endocrine function of BAT controlling glucose homoeostasis under this thermoregulatory challenge. Here, we show that in male mice, activated BAT-derived extracellular vesicles (BDEVs) reprogram systemic glucose metabolism by promoting hepatic gluconeogenesis during cold stress.

Background: Wheat-induced anaphylaxis (WIA) is a serious and potentially life-threatening wheat allergy, more common in adults than in children. Little is known about the differences in clinical profiles in WIA among patients of various ages in China.

Methods: The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System database was searched for reported allergic reactions after the administration of any of the COVID-19 vaccines from December 2020 to June 2021.

Background And Aims: Self-perception of sensitive skin (SPSS) has several consequences, including skin barrier damage, which is prevented by barrier sebum. We analyzed lipidome profiles of skin surface lipids (SSLs) in patients with SPSS and healthy controls and explored the mechanism of action of potential lipid markers on the repair of damaged barrier cells to better understand SSL abnormity in these patients.

Methods: Ultraperformance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry was used to investigate SSL variations in major lipid classes, subclasses, and species.

Drawing on interviews with 40 Chinese gay academics, this paper reveals participants' concerns about conducting queer research in China. These include sexual-identity exposure, difficulty in publishing research and receiving funding, as well as marginalisation within university departments. Informed by Irvine's conceptualisation of sexuality research as dirty work, this research examines the operation of heteronormativity in the constitution of queer research as dirty work.

Purpose: Royal jelly and honeycomb are commonly consumed in China, and anaphylaxis caused by ingestion of royal jelly is rare. To date, there is no report of anaphylaxis after ingestion of royal jelly in China. Its cross-reactivity with honeycomb is still unclear.

Purpose: Pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds is a common allergen source. The characteristics of pollen allergy in China are obviously different from Europe. Most studies have focused on tree and weed pollen, but there is a paucity of data on grass pollen sensitisation in China.

Repair of Breast Defect by Transfer of a Contralateral Internal Mammary Artery Perforator Flap.

This is a case report of a patient with a borderline phyllodes tumor in the left breast. Seventeen months after the resection of the phyllodes tumor from the patient's left breast, the tumor occurred again 5 months ago in the surgical region. A large defect was generated after the extended resection of the left breast mass, and it was repaired with a contralateral internal mammary artery perforator flap.

Dynamics of quantum entanglement in a zigzag graphene nanoribbon.

We study the dynamics of entanglement between two edge spins in a zigzag graphene nanoribbon (ZGNR) which is thermalized with a reservoir at temperature. The results show that the entanglement evolution displays oscillating behaviors in the presence of an external magnetic field. Such oscillating behaviors of entanglement strongly depend on the field frequency and relative location between two inter-edge coupled spins.
