We demonstrate enhanced on-chip circulating tumor cell (CTC) detection through the incorporation of plasmonic-enhanced near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence screening. Specifically, the performance of plasmonic gold coated chips was evaluated on our previously reported immunomagnetic CTC capture system and compared to the performance of a regular chip. Three main performance metrics were evaluated: capture efficiency, capture reproducibility, and clinical efficacy.

We generated low-flux X-ray micro-planar beams (MPBs) using a laboratory-scale industrial X-ray generator (60 kV/20 mA) with custom-made collimators with three different peak/pitch widths (50/200 μm, 100/400 μm, 50/400 μm). To evaluate normal skin reactions, the thighs of C3H/HeN mice were exposed to 100 and 200 Gy MPBs in comparison with broad beams (20, 30, 40, 50, 60 Gy). Antitumor effects of MPBs were evaluated in C3H/HeN mice with subcutaneous tumors (SCCVII).

In this study, the benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized and evaluated as imaging agents for the NR2B subtype of NMDA receptor. Among these ligands, 2-{[4-(4-iodobenzyl)piperidin-1-yl]methyl}benzimidazol-5-ol (8) and N-{2-[4-(4-iodobenzyl)-piperidin-1-ylmethyl]benzoimidazol-5-yl}-methanesulfonamide (9) exhibited high affinity for the NR2B subunit (K(i) values; 7.28 nM for 8 and 5.

In the present study, the adjuvant capacity of oligomannose-coated liposomes (OMLs) was evaluated in mice, and an OML-based vaccine was shown to induce effective anti-tumor immunity. C57BL/6 mice were immunized subcutaneously with OML-encased ovalbumin (OVA) and challenged with OVA-expressing E.G7-OVA tumor cells.

The lymphoid tissue in the omentum, at the so-called milky spots, is known as an initial place for disseminated cancer cells to develop into solid tumors. In the present study, i.p.
