Leigh syndrome is a rare progressive neurodegenerative disease with variable clinical presentations associated with mitochondrial dysfunction. However, the most common presentations are motor and intellectual developmental delays, with signs and symptoms of brainstem and basal ganglia involvement. We describe a 6-year-old boy with a history of delayed developmental milestones who presen-ted to our hospital due to unconscious status and respiratory distress syndrome.

Juvenile granulosa cell tumor (GCT) is a rare ovarian tumor in children, presenting with a multiloculated cystic pattern and irregular wall-thickening on imaging and serous cystadenoma (SCA) is also another rare benign cystic ovarian tumor in children. The appearance of two uncommon types of ovarian tumors on both sides in children is extremely rare. We report the case of a 4-year-old female presenting with symptoms of precocious puberty and diagnosed with juvenile GCT on the left ovary after surgical resection.

Background Thymoma is a primary tumor derived from the epithelial cells of the thymus, which is commonly seen in the mediastinum. Surgical thymectomy is the radical treatment for thymoma. The recent introduction of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery has improved the quality of thymectomy surgery.
